Thankful, grateful, mindful – for all our blessings. That’s what this time of year means to me.
> I am thankful for all the amazing things being part of Junior Achievement has given me over the decades. Amazing friends, my husband (yes, he was a volunteer…), and a chance to make a difference.
> My gratitude for the members of our Executive Committee knows no bounds. This creative, committed group is dedicated to making the JA Staff Alumni Network a place where we can all stay connected.
> I am mindful of the difference we can make in the future – for current JA associates, for each other, and for those who support us as we make a difference.
As the new year approaches, keep an eye on our Facebook page and our LinkedIn site for connections, announcements, and other interesting tidbits!
All the best for a happy and healthy 2024!

We've all heard the expression, "Out with the old and In with the new", which seems
appropriate as we want to disband our "old" (original) JASAN LinkedIn Group, "JA Staff Alumni",
Please take a moment to complete steps 1-3, if you're still in the original group, and then to
follow the new page, steps 4-5.
you’re not a member of the old group and can skip steps 2 and 3 and move to Step 4.
2. Click the three horizontal dots by the bell
3. Click "Leave this group"
5. Click Follow
The old group will be deleted on December 29th. Thank you for your help, and we look forward
to making better connections!

The JASAN spotlight is on ... Edwin Bodensiek!
|
|
Have you ever met Edwin Bodensiek? If not, here’s your chance to get to know a little about him.
Edwin’s JA career…
Formerly with JA USA Headquarters – 1998 – 2006.
Some of Edwin's career highlights…
I started at headquarters shortly after college, in 1998, first as a curriculum editor in
Colorado Springs and then in three more positions --Web Marketing Manager, Director
of Public Affairs, and finally, VP of Government Relations in Washington, D.C.
Along the way, I met amazing humans from all over the United States, and indeed,
from around the world. I was – and remain – deeply impressed by how committed the
people of JA were to the organization’s great mission, the kids we served, and to each
other. Together, we cranked out many “firsts.” We innovated around products
(converting the old MESE floppy disk to CD-ROMs and eventually online, where it
debuted as JA Titan), around program rollouts (DJs! Fog machines! Short films!
Dancing! State correlations!), around marketing (offering locally controlled websites
and hosting various online events for PR), and around fundraising (carving out federal
appropriations dollars for R&D funding and pursuing state grants with local boards.
Fun times!
To hear more from Edwin ...

Grow?? The Membership and Engagement Committees are looking for
additional members to help with our outreach and recruitment of new members and connections with existing members. We have prospect lists and we have many former JA staff on our radar and could use some assistance with emails, messages, and connecting with future and current members.
If you're interested or want more info on what we're up to...please contact Tami Godsey, Membership Chair, OR Theo Boots, Engagement Chair. Let's keep our roster growing and connect with new and existing members to make 2024 an awesome JASAN year!!

Making your JASAN Contribution ...
|
|
... is so easy! And your contribution supports all the work we will be doing during the 2024-25 year.
Our campaign is off to a great start thanks to many of you who have made their gift to JASAN through our website portal. And I am so impressed with several of our members who are making monthly or recurring gifts.
In the Season of Giving, and with 2023 coming to an end, please consider making a gift to JASAN. Our goal is to raise $35,000 to support the Karl Flemke Award, the Jim Sweeny Scholarship, and the JA Professional Staff Hall of Fame.
We also have a generous anonymous donor who has offered to match any NEW, FIRST-TIME donations to JASAN up to a total of $2,000.
Chat with your accountant (or accounting software!) to see if it makes sense to make your contribution before December 31 – and if it makes tax sense to make that gift from your IRA. To use your credit card, here’s the link; if you want to write a check (like from your IRA), here’s the link to the form that you can print and mail.
And thank you. We owe it to our membership to keep the JASAN fires burning
brightly.
