- JASAN Professional Staff Hall of Fame dinner.
- Thursday, July 27th:
- JASAN sponsored breakfast for the 50 JA Area scholarship recipients.
- JASAN's meeting continues after breakfast.
- Lunch with NLC attendees to recognize the Professional Staff HOF award and retirees.
- Afternoon "off" to explore Louisville.
- Hook/Flemke reception before awards dinner as we sponsor the Flemke Award.
- Attending the awards/final dinner.
- Friday, July 28th - Departure day.
Second, JASAN is looking for folks to join the JASAN Executive Committee. We meet once a month and ask our members to serve on one additional committee. Time commitment is about two hours a month, depending on your committee service. If you are interested in making a difference in JASAN, please let incoming Chair, Linda Schoelkopf (lschoelkopf@hotmail.com) know by April 10. You can get a sense of the areas of service on the website.
Lastly, it's time to connect! the link below to register for our next virtual connection party – April 27 at 1:00 pm Eastern Time and 7:00 pm Eastern Time. We hope one of these times will work for you!

Happy Spring! Recently we marked the beginning of Daylight Savings Time, which means more daylight in the evening to enjoy being outside. Spring also brings with it warmer weather, a return to the outdoors, new growth, and reflection. As you reflect on the past year, I hope you will also take a moment to renew your support of JASAN or become a first-time donor to this amazing group of JA professionals.

The 2023 Professional Staff Hall of Fame Laureate |

This year marks the first time an individual is being inducted into the JA Professional Staff Hall of Fame since 2012 when Donna Buchanan was inducted. It is fitting that Don Floyd has been elected to the Hall of Fame in its first year as an official JASAN program in partnership with JA USA.
Don had a distinguished 17-year career with JA starting in 1973 as Executive Director in Reading, PA. In 1975, Don went to the National Office to manage the new Project Business program, then became the President of JA of New York in 1980 where he won the Hook Award in 1984. Don went back to JA, Inc. as Executive Vice President until 1990. After leaving JA, Don went to 4H where he held leadership positions including President and CEO of the National 4H Council and then became the Chair of the Global 4H Network until his retirement in 2016.
Don will be formally inducted into the Professional Staff Hall of Fame at the JASAN Annual Meeting and JA USA NLC on July 26 and 27 in Louisville, KY. JASAN will recognize Don at a dinner on Wednesday evening, July 26, and he will be recognized at NLC at the Retiree and Service Awards Luncheon on Thursday, July 27.
Please join me in congratulating Don Floyd for his well-deserved induction into the JA Professional Staff Hall of Fame. We hope to see you in Louisville.

Jon Epps
Jon began working for JA in July of 1999 and spent nearly 24 years with JA Tampa Bay helping grow many programs, events, sponsorships, and fundraising before leaving in January 2023 as their Vice President of Corporate Partnerships.
He is currently working as the Director of Philanthropy at Chapters Health Foundation in Tampa, Florida! As a new member of JASAN, Jon looks forward to staying in touch with former colleagues.

Kimber Glorioso
Kimber started at the JA USA National Headquarters in June of 2013 on a three week contract to write some software testing scripts for the Business Improvement (BI) Team. Fast-forward eight years later…she left JA as the Vice President of Enterprise Applications in August of 2021. She shared that “By far, JA is my most favorite organization.”
Kimber is now working as a Senior Engagement Manager for ServiceNow in Colorado Springs, CO. As a member of the JA Staff Alumni Network, she looks forward to her continued connections with fellow JASAN members across the county.

Kym McGee
Kym began working for JA in August of 1998 and spent nearly 24 years with JA Tampa Bay and JA OKI Partners (Cincinnati, OH). While with JA Tampa Bay, Kym managed JA Inspire Virtual and other programs for a three-county area and she ran summer programming. Kym’s time with JA OKI Partners was as Vice President of Programs. She led a staff of six, oversaw all programs, created and implemented new processes, re-aligned service delivery areas by districts, and streamlined paperwork. Kym also created online materials tracking process and oversaw their Job Shadow Day for over 3,000 students.
Kym is currently a substitute teacher in Pinellas County, Florida. As a new member of JASAN, she looks forward to connecting with former JA colleagues and friends!

Heather Jones Rohlfing
Heather began working for JA Headquarters in Colorado Springs in April of 2011 and spent over five years with the Executive and Operations Teams as the Manager of Executive Support Services before leaving in August 2016. She managed everything to do with JA Worldwide board meetings. In addition, Heather served as liaison to the JA senior management team by scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, capturing meeting notes, and followed-up as appropriate. Heather is currently the Executive Assistant to the VP for Enrollment at Colorado College.
As a new member of JASAN, Heather would love to connect with former colleagues and help build the network with any skills that she can provide. She shared… “I can honestly say that the best times in my career were helping build successful events and traveling/connecting with staff. I value the friendships and bonds we created over the years and would love to be back as a meaningful collaborator.”

Kim Fabian
Kim started her career in October 2012 as the Senior Vice President in the JA of Central Maryland (Baltimore, MD) area. During her time there, the team worked to double staff, outreach, and the annual operating budget through strategic Capstone program partnerships with local school systems, including the launch of JA Finance Park Virtual, in addition to their existing JA BizTown facility. Kim developed the JA Pathfinder career exploration online platform and created an operational plan to build a dedicated dual Capstone facility in Baltimore County.
Kim left JA in January of 2020 and is now a leadership consultant and Chief Experience Officer at Elevatr, consulting with leaders of nonprofit and service organizations to build capacity, support teams, and amplify impact.
She shared … “I consider my role at JA one of the highlights of my professional career, largely because of the mission and the people. It would be very satisfying to continue to stay in touch with the talented folks who feel the same, as well as to continue to support the good work of the local JA organizations.”
