Pop and Jazz Musician and Singer

Akiko Yano's debut album, Japanese Girl, was released in 1976. Since then, she has been involved in a wide range of activities, including recording with Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO), participating in various sessions and recordings. In addition to "Yanokami" with Rei Harakami and "Yamori" with Ryoko Moriyama, she has collaborated with artists of various genres such as Hiromitsu Agatsuma, Sayuri Ishikawa, Hiromi Uehara, and YUKI.

アルバム『JAPANESE GIRL』で1976年にソロデビュー。以来、YMOとの共演や様々なセッション、レコーディングなど、活動は多岐に渡る。森山良子との「やもり」をはじめ、上妻宏光、石川さゆり、上原ひろみ、YUKIなど、様々なジャンルのアーティストとの共演も多い。2023年3月には、野口聡一宇宙飛行士が2020年に国際宇宙ステーションでの長期滞在中に書いた詞に曲をつけた、全14曲のピアノ弾き語りアルバム『君に会いたいんだ、とても』を、矢野顕子・野口聡一名義にて発売した。

It is with great excitement we invite you to participate in a very special fundraising event. We are hosting our 42nd Anniversary Benefit Dinner at the Yale Club of New York City on Thursday, October 26, 2023 to fund JASSI's operation to provide social services to individuals and families in need.

JASSI was established as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization in 1981 with the mission of improving quality of life for people who face problems resulting from language barriers, cultural differences, and difference in services systems, we help more than 1,000 individuals per year by providing an array of social services without any charge while protecting the confidentiality of service users. More than 88% of clients who answered the question had low-to-moderate income in last fiscal year; thus, it is critical that our services are provided free of charge.

Here is how you can help:

1. Please mark your calendar now and plan to attend the dinner on October 26th. A ticket costs $400 per person. RSVP by September 15th. A reply card is attached here. Fill it out and send to [email protected] or mail to JASSI at 100 Gold St., L.L., New York, NY 10038 along with your check.   

2. Please consider monetary donation 

Please make your check payable to "JASSI" and mail to 100 Gold St., L.L., New York, NY 10038. All donations are tax-deductible. You can also donate by clicking the button below.

2023年10月26日(木)、日米ソーシャルサービス（JASSI）は The Yale Club of New York Cityで創立42周年記念ベネフィット・ディナーを開催します。

JASSIは1981年に創立以来、福祉サービスを無償で提供しているニューヨーク州認定非営利団体です。日常生活をする上で直面する問題から、言語、文化および制度の違いによって生じる複雑な問題まで、支援を必要とする人たちの生活の質の向上を図ることをミッションに、専門教育・訓練を受けた日・英バイリンガルスタッフが守秘義務遵守のもと相談に応じており、年間支援者数は1,000名を超えます。JASSIのクライエントで質問に回答した８０％以上の方々が低所得世帯に属するため、創立以来すべてのサービスを無料で提供しています。そのため、行政の助成金、財団基金、企業や個人からの寄付金、ベネフィット・ディナーの収益金が主な活動源となっています。

今後も支援が必要な方々に分け隔てなく質の高い福祉サービスを提供できるようJASSIスタッフ一同尽力させていただく所存です。
