Rochester, NY –June 26, 2023–It's already day four of the 20th Anniversary Edition of the CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival, one of the world’s leading jazz festivals. The nine-day event produced by Marc Iacona and John Nugent continues through July 1 in Downtown Rochester, NY, at 19 diverse venues.
After an incredible opening weekend, with tens of thousands of attendees, the music continues today in diverse venues in Rochester's east-end cultural district. Jazz starts at noon today with a free concert at the Central Library. It's also the first day of the 20th Edition free Jazz Workshops for music students of all ages sponsored by Wegmans.
More than 1750 artists will play at the Festival this year in 300 shows, including 100 free performances, nightly jam sessions, and jazz workshops. Musicians will travel from 14 countries outside the U.S. The festival draws more than 210,000 people annually.

Jazz Scholarship Concert Tonight Celebrates the Life & Music of Chick Corea
The Eastman Jazz Ensemble, directed by Christine Jensen, with special Guests Tommy Smith, Tenor Saxophone & Peter Johnstone, Piano has been recognized as one of the world’s premier collegiate jazz performing organizations for three decades. Years before Eastman alumnus Chuck Mangione became the ensemble’s first faculty director, the band was established and governed by Eastman student musicians. Scholarship presentation will also be made to this year's recipient Peter Foley. FREE at Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre. Read more

ABOUT THE CGI ROCHESTER INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL
The CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival is one of the world’s leading jazz festivals. Held annually in Rochester, NY, more than 210,000 music fans attend the nine-day festival, which presents 300 shows at 19 venues with more than 1750 artists from around the world. The Festival was founded in 2002 and is produced by RIJF, LLC, a privately held company owned by John Nugent and Marc Iacona. 2023 marks the festival's 20th Edition. The 2020 and 2021 Festivals could not be held due to the coronavirus pandemic.
