JC is also on a mission to foster and develop new artists through his Indie Label Sonic Projects. Distributed worldwide by Sony Music US Latin, this partnership aims to support up-and-coming artists beyond the creation of the master by providing the major infrastructure of Sony Music plus A&R, marketing, social media strategies and all the necessary tools for the indie artist to continue their development after successful completion of the recording process. The boutique label, created in 2010, focuses on artists and projects that highlight cultural integration and social awareness. Some recent projects include NY based queer Rock-Pop artist Fab The Duo, Grammy and Latin Grammy nominee Salsa legend Edwin Bonilla and performing artist and activist Cable Head.
In an effort to provide songwriters with technical and creative support while expanding his own songwriting career, he created in 2009 a strategic studio and publishing partnership with peermusic in Miami, FL, in which they would house his studio within their office complex, becoming the first alliance of its kind in which a publishing company houses a state of the art studio in partnership with one of their writers. The partnership, that lasted over a decade, resulted in countless Chart Topping Albums as well as Grammy and Latin Grammy nominations.
