Dear Parent / Guardian,
I say it every year, but I can’t believe the school year has come to an end. We have had so many successes this year and much has been accomplished. We are
A Tradition…of Family, Hard Work, and Spirituality. It is because of families like you that we are able to celebrate all of the good things that make up Joliet Catholic Academy. We say congratulations to our Class of 2018 and good luck with all of their future endeavors.
We have received several calls recently from parents asking about next year’s start dates and other calendar related questions. The following are a list of some important dates:
August
15 and 16 Freshmen Orientation Days
17 First Day of Classes (1/2 day)
20 First full day of school
23 Parent Back to School Night
December
18, 19, 20 Semester Exams
21 - Jan. 6 Christmas Break
April
19-28 Easter Break
May
21, 22, 23 Final Exams
As the summer is upon us, we have much to do to prepare for next year. Currently the front and south parking lots are getting re-paved and we are continuing the dramatic renovations to the new chapel. We are hoping to have the opening of the new chapel this fall as work is getting done in pretty quick fashion. Our air-conditioning install continues this summer also. Half of the Science / Fine Arts wing is complete, the new chapel is complete, and we will be moving to the last area: our English / ARC / Library wing. Our goal is to have all air-conditioning complete by the start of school. With a very generous donation, the chapel project was able to begin; however, we still need to address the new IRC. As the 2018-2019 school year begins we will be starting a new campaign focusing on renovation of the old chapel and Tech Center to create the Innovation Research Center. This exciting project will enhance our student work space and offer resources for educational growth.
I hope that everyone in the JCA community has a relaxing and fulfilling summer and we look to the 2018-2019 school year for many more JCA successes!
Blessings,
Dr. Jeffrey Budz
President / Principal

Shadow Visits and Private Tours
Here at JCA, we realize that each family has specific needs, questions and expectations for their child. Therefore, we offer private tours to families throughout the year. Simply contact the Admissions Office at 815.741.0500 to schedule a mutually convenient time. The JCA Admissions Staff values our current JCA families as the greatest ambassadors for our school. Recommending an area family or student you know who is in 7th or 8th grade, or a potential high school transfer students, is a great way to help spread the word about JCA. Please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Quigley or Mrs. Ragusa in Admissions to connect with local families interested in JCA.
Shadow Visits offer seventh- and eighth-grade students an individualized experience by pairing a prospective student with a current Angel or Hilltopper who shares his/her academic and extracurricular interests. Students may shadow on most Fridays that JCA is in session from September through April.
Current high school students wishing to transfer to JCA are also encouraged to schedule a Shadow Visit and will be offered the opportunity to spend the day at JCA as part of the transfer process.
Parents/guardians who are considering having their high school student transfer to JCA should contact the office of the Vice Principal of Faculty and Operations at 815.741.0500, ext. 217.
