JCCB Newsletter June 2021
Yes, it is warm outside, but we are already in a Christmas state of mind!

We are planning on a traditional Holiday SHOP this year where clients can come in and choose their own items (fingers crossed that Covid will not rear its ugly head again).
Teams are continuing to purchase and inventory merchandise for the various departments.
Benefit plans are moving right along and sponsorships and donations are coming in.

AND...we are so happy to have resumed IN-PERSON meetings for the Board of Directors and the Volunteer Staff.

We hope you enjoy a wonderful Independence Day weekend and please continue
to watch our website for ongoing news.
WE NEED SPACE!!!

We need a donated space for sorting and storing our SHOP merchandise. Previous locations are no longer available. Criteria:
  • Located in Johnson County
  • Climate Controlled
  • Ground Level

JCCB CLIENT COMMENTS

"For those of us with children who are disabled, our lives are crushed by medical bills. The holiday shop is the one light we can count on to help us give all of our kids something to look forward to during the holiday season."
OUR VOLUNTEERS ARE THE BEST

JCCB is so fortunate to have such a large group of wonderful volunteers. Your work both year-round and during our Holiday SHOP makes a huge positive impact on our lower-income neighbors. WE THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!!!

Our donors appreciate you, too - please see the following note we received on June 19th:

"I just wanted to tell you what a wonderful coat volunteer you have in Margay. She not only came to our house twice and picked up several hundred coats but also, she volunteered to come help us at the house that we were cleaning. We were at 72nd and Pennsylvania. . . not close to her house at all. Twice she filled her car, drove to 109 and Pflumm, unloaded and came back for more. You are truly lucky to have such a good dedicated coat co-chair. With her direction, I was able to to find other items that would work for gifts. She was cheerful and positive about your mission. It was a pleasure working with her."
