The students of HJSH experienced a full day of STEM activities on our new innovative mobile STEM lab! Students participated in STEM activities through rotation stations consisting of drones and virtual reality field experiences. Our students visited the Great Wall of China, experienced live shark sightings, and viewed the Tanzania Grasslands and Rainforests. Students learned and identified the various parts of the drone, how drones fly, and experienced drone flight firsthand! Our RSAE, RES, and CATE scholars will have the opportunity to experience our innovative mobile STEM lab in action beginning Monday, September 19th.

Standards Mastery Assessment is administered three weeks after each diagnostic assessment. As we work diligently to address every student's academic deficiencies and/or accelerate those learners who are prepared to accelerate, it is extremely important that students are present in school daily.

Standards Mastery Assessments are prebuilt assessments that will allow teachers/administrators to measure student mastery of grade level standards, are rigorous and will prepare students for SC Ready, and will give educators the insights from the assessment to understand exactly where and why students need support in Reading and Math.

Schools will administer the Reading Form A Standards Mastery Assessment on Wednesday, September 21st and Math Form A on Thursday, September 22nd.

Following the assessment completion, teachers will analyze the data, and TEACH, TEACH, TEACH.

Then, teachers will administer Reading Standards Mastery Assessment Form B assessments on Wednesday, October 19th, and the Math Standards Mastery Form B Assessment on Thursday, October 20th.
