ELA eLEAD (Educators Leading Effective Accountable Decisions) Team

District leaders are strategically collaborating to put our scholars in the best situations to be successful. This ELA Team is designed to promote effective decision-making that will lead to student achievement. The ELA eLEAD (Educators Leading Effective Accountable Decisions) Team was created by Mrs. Pamela Sims, Director of Early Learning/Elementary & Diversity. She established this team to stay abreast, communicate, and carry out the district and state ELA initiatives.  This team was developed to include and provide a laser-like focus on what matters most about ELA instruction for Early Learning through high school. The team meets weekly; subtopics will vary based on Data & Assessments, Instruction, Curriculum, Educator Support, and Professional Learning Opportunities & Follow-Up (DICE & PLO). The team members are Ms. Gayle Wilson, Ms. Joy McFarland, Ms. Cindy Oxford, and Mrs. Theresa Atchison.

Saturday Academy at JCSD Schools

Shout out to all our scholars who took advantage of the additional enrichment opportunities provided by our certified teachers. Their investment into their future will definitely bear fruit.

Saturday Academy is an amazing opportunity for our students to come and receive small group instruction via a targeted academic approach. This is also an opportunity for students in Grades 3rd through 8th and students who are enrolled in End of Course Assessments. The goal is to ensure that students whose academic data is below grade level have an opportunity to improve academically and avoid possible grade-level retention.

If you missed the opportunity to sign up for Saturday Academy, there is still time to sign up for future sessions. Contact your student's principal's office to be placed within the program.

Heroes on Horseback

Jasper County School District is proud to participate in the Heroes on Horseback program again this school year, Empowering Lives one stride at a time!

Heroes on Horseback enriches our community and the lives of our scholars by providing equine-assisted activities and therapy in an effective, compassionate environment.

"We have a beautiful program, and although it’s volunteer, the rewards are immeasurable, something money could never buy. To see the growth in our students, the joy on their faces, and to be a part of the fellowship we share with one another is one of the biggest rewards of my life. I am grateful to be a part of this program and honored to be one of their instructors."
