Public Testimony Opportunity
JUNE 2, 2020
4 PM - 6 PM
|
Next week, the University of Alaska Board of Regents will consider whether to cut more than 40 academic programs and to implement structural changes that could result in the merger of the University of Alaska Southeast with one of the system's other two universities.
The consideration of "options for university transformation"
- including a possible merger - is part of an effort to mitigate a $14 million to $40 million financial deficit that would hit the university system in fiscal year 2022, according to a May 13 presentation to the University Board of Regents' audit committee by UA President Jim Johnsen.
(Anchorage Daily News Excerpt)
You can show your support to keep the University of Alaska Southeast as an independent entity within the University of Alaska system that serves our region so well. Attend the public testimony next week, June 2, 2020 at 4 PM or write a letter to the board showing your support.

The purpose of the AK CARES Funding Program is to provide emergency relief grants to small businesses that were unable to receive support from the SBA Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL), or other federal funding programs under CARES Act. In addition, to show support for rural Alaskan businesses that are in need right now, up to 20% of funds available through this program will be set aside for the needs of businesses in remote Alaskan communities that have fewer than 5,000 residents.

Learn More About the Inspiration for Pandere
|
CONGRATULATIONS!
The evening wrapped up with the final announcement, where the angels made the final investment decision to invest in Pandere.
Pandere makes expandable footwear for people who have conditions that affect the shape of their feet. Their shoes accommodate swelling, diabetes, bunion, food braces and edema that can occur during pregnancy or air travel. Their patent-pending designs are an attractive alternative to orthopedic shoes.
The event was live and interactive, but will soon be uploaded to YouTube in case you missed the great event.
While the Alaska Angel Conference 2020 is wrapping up, stay tuned for more information on 2021!
