Victoria Robledo, LMFT and Jessica Lodato, LPCA from the JFS Bennett Center for Behavioral Health, participated in the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies Washington, DC Advocacy Fly-In. They engaged directly with state representatives from both the Senate and the House to advocate on critical policy issues.

Their advocacy efforts focused on protecting and expanding access to essential programs such as SNAP and Medicaid, as well as advancing legislation related to the recognition and support of professional degrees in mental health and nursing. They also highlighted the importance of increasing resources and services for older adults, particularly those in vulnerable communities.

Through these conversations, they emphasized the vital role of mental health professionals and human service agencies in addressing community needs and ensuring equitable access to care and support services.

JFS attended the Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) Women of Action Brunch, a meaningful event celebrating resilience and leadership. This year’s program honored Julie TelRav for turning adversity into strength, and recognized Tamar Links with the Shamash Award for lighting the path for others. JFS was proud to be part of this event, celebrating this year’s honorees.

Kate Milde, JFS Director, participated in the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut’s New Member Orientation at the Regional Innovation Center in New London. The event brought together local businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders, creating an opportunity to build meaningful connections and strengthen regional partnerships.
