JEWISH FAMILY SERVICE &
SOUTHWEST
JEWISH CONGRESS
PARTNER TOGETHER

Southwest Jewish Congress (SWJC) was honored to join with Jewish Family Service (JFS), the North Texas Food Bank, the City of Dallas, and the Dallas Police Department to serve meals on January 21st at the JFS Roseland Counseling Center and on January 22nd at the JFS partner agency Jubilee Park. SWJC’s delicious chef-inspired meals are prepared and delivered by Kim Whiting with Thornhill Catering.

SWJC's humanitarian project, SWJC Building Bridges – Feeding Heroes and Neighbors in Need began in April 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and continues to make a positive impact. SWJC has provided over 4,600 meals since April to more than 80 locations around the DFW metroplex. These nutritious meals bring hope, comfort, and are a delicious way to let people know they are not forgotten.

According to Project Founder and Manager, Cindy Ray, the mission of Building Bridges - Feeding Heroes and Neighbors is three-fold; 1) The first responders and families are fortified with a good meal, 2) The caterer puts her staff back to work, and 3) all donor’s contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. Contributors receive no goods or services in exchange for their contribution. Ray describes it as a “win-win-win” for everyone involved.
Every dollar raised for this SWJC project is allocated to feed Heroes and Neighbors.
$50 feeds 5, $100 feeds 10 and so on. To donate to this project, visit www.swjc.org.
