In this work, we rarely take the time to celebrate our successes. In this new edition of our Community Partner newsletter, we would like to take the time to pause and celebrate one of our meaningful and impactful partnerships this fall!

Fatima Kamara is working eight hours per week as MOMCares Operations Manager through CIIP Extension. Through her work with Extension, she is assisting in planning the very first "Black Maternal Health Week”, which will occur from April 11th to 17th. This includes drafting proposals and grants and handling some of the event planning logistics. Fatima is also processing referrals from health care professionals and coordinating between mothers, volunteer, coordinators, and doulas.

Expanding Office Hours
This spring, after a semester of office hours at Impact Hub Baltimore, we’re looking to expand!
Starting the week of January 27, every Friday, our Community Partnership Specialist will have open hours from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Center for Social Concern (3103 N Charles St).

Organizations in Baltimore City are selected as community partners for this Community Impact Internships Program based on their need for a summer intern to focus on a specific, capacity-building project for an eight-week period.

Johns Hopkins Neighborhood Fund
|
The application for the Johns Hopkins Neighborhood Fund, created in 2007 to support nonprofit organizations that both serve the communities in close proximity to Hopkins campuses and are associated with Johns Hopkins through employee or institutional involvement, is now open!
Several CSC Community Partners have received funding in the past, including the Baltimore Community ToolBank, the Church of the Guardian Angel, Squashwise, and the Youth Empowered Society.

2020 Census Community Grant
|
The Baltimore City Department of Planning is looking for trusted community members to spread the word about the 2020 Census.
In addition to Congressional representation, the Census also determines the allocation of federal funding for transit, housing, child care subsidies and many programs that affect all of us in Baltimore City.
