In addition, we have a variety of fun and educational activity options compiled on our  website  available to K–12 students and their families. Program Information
Women in Science and Engineering (WISE)
As you are aware, the evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic has called upon Johns Hopkins to take a series of unprecedented steps to safeguard our community, including suspending classes through the spring 2020 semester, and all in-person events until further notice. 

Given the many uncertainties that we and our partner schools and organizations face right now, our search for additional summer WISE 2020 participants has been suspended. 

We appreciate your interest in our program, apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and hope you will consider applying for a future semester or summer.

Biomedical Engineering Innovation
Plan to join us for BMEI online this summer! Biomedical Engineering Innovation is an online course for high school students which introduces biomedical engineering by (1) modeling biological systems and designing experiments to test those models and (2) introducing engineering principles to solve design problems that are biological, physiological, and/or medical.

STEM Champions of Baltimore
Youth LOVE STEM! Add affordable, proven STEM to your summer offerings. Affordable curriculum packages options include (1) 25 hours –packages,(2) Challenge Day package or (3) custom activities based on your theme.  Themes for the 25-hr packages are Hidden Figures, Black Panther or Engineer That.  Available with on site training, on site coaching, lesson plans, supplies list with vendor links, and powerpoint slides to use in sessions.

SABES STEM Showcase Cancelled
The rapidly evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic has called upon Johns Hopkins to take a series of unprecedented steps to safeguard our community. The University has suspended all in-person classes through the Spring 2020 semester. With that, all in-person, university events are suspended pending further notice, including tours, admissions events, and alumni events.

Unfortunately, this means the Center for Educational Outreach must cancel the SABES STEM Showcase originally scheduled for Thursday, May 7, 2020.

Opportunities for Professional Growth
Science Leadership Foundation Professional Leadership Course
The Center for Educational Outreach will be hosting a week-long science leadership course to equip school-based leaders with knowledge, skills, and tools to support science instruction in a pre-K-8 setting. The course will be taught by Dr. Katya Denisova and Principal Miguel Cervantes del Toro.

SABES Curriculum Writer Needed
The JHU Center for Educational Outreach is seeking a SABES curriculum writer to rewrite the 29 K-5 Next Generation Science Standard units to make them ready for national distribution.
