Jewish Life League Letter - News and Updates
|
|
Greetings and Shalom!
As we mentioned in our JLL Letter last month, a vitally important abortion case is scheduled to be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court starting in the fall.
In Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization centers, the Dobbs case, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments on a Mississippi law, known as "The "Gestational Age Act," which bans almost all elective abortions after 15 weeks,
The Jewish Pro-Life Foundation is submitting an amicus brief to the Supreme Court in support of the pro-life law. I have signed on to the brief, and we are all praying that this important law that protects babies' lives is upheld by the High Court.
The consequences are enormous for unborn children. Right now, there are no limitations on abortion, and killing unborn babies is legal for all nine months of pregnancy.
Most Americans are opposed to the radical pro-abortion policies of the radical left. A new poll by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research and published in June in Newsweek found that:
- 80 percent of Americans think abortion should be illegal in the third trimester.
- 65 percent of Americans believe abortion should be illegal in the second trimester, which begins in the 13th week of pregnancy.
As reported in LifeNews.com, a new OnMessage Inc. poll released by The Susan B. Anthony List indicates that likely voters are much more likely to vote for Republican candidates that support a 15 week limit on abortion than Democrat candidates who supports unlimited abortion-on-demand.
And yet, abortion is legal for all nine months of pregnancy in every state, with the exception of states with pro-life legislatures and governors that have enacted laws enforcing bans on infanticide. The abortion industry and civil rights attorneys have initiated lawsuits against the pro-life states because they want killing babies to go unrestricted. It's not about choice. It's about profits. It's about killing babies.
The challenge we have as pro-lifers is that many Americans polled still vote the wrong way - for pro-abortion Democrats. We must promote the pro-life message to voters that is often censored from social media.
Most Americans are not aware that 75% of the countries in the world do not allow legal abortion after 12 weeks gestation.
But in America, it is allowed.
Dobbs v. Jackson is an important case that will decide whether all pre-viability abortions are unconstitutional. This case could determine whether there is a chance that Roe v. Wade will be overturned by the Court.
For life,
Bonnie Chernin

Essential Viewing on Chemical Abortion
|
|
For this month, a new five-part docuseries produced by Charlotte Pence Bond, "THIS IS CHEMICAL ABORTION" is essential and indispensable viewing.
It is not unusual for a pregnant woman to take the first pill and experience remorse over the abortion process, wishing she can undo her decision. With Abortion Pill Reversal, women now have the option of safely and effectively reversing a chemical abortion. It is a safe and natural process. If she has not yet taken the second drug, misopristol, there is the possibility for reversal. This series explains how it works, and why the abortion industry is desperately trying to stop women from finding out about this life-affirming choice.

The tragic consequences of progressivism...
|
|
In 1967, Colorado became the first state to liberalize their abortion law. The media publicized lies, intentionally inflating the numbers of abortion deaths to propagandize the need for abortion laws to be repealed nationwide.
In 1965, Walter Cronkite spoke to the nation, and said in part:
"The illegal termination of pregnancy has reached epidemic proportions in this country. The laws which govern abortion are broken an estimated one million times a year. Three thousand times a day...The facts are astonishing. One out of every five pregnancies in the United States is terminated. 350,000 women a year suffer post-operative complications. Five thousand of these women die."
The above excerpt is from a video produced in the early 1990s, CBS News Productions, "20th Century with Mike Wallace, Feminism/Abortion."

Nearly 63 million unborn babies have been killed by abortion since 1973.
Dr. Bernard Nathanson, abortionist and leading proponent for legalized abortion in the late 1960s, admitted later on that the numbers were made up to sway the public. The public had no say in abortion laws in the end, since Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton were decided by the Supreme Court.

Women deserve better than abortion.
|
|
Women are coming forward to report how their abortion experience left them depressed and sometimes they are physically injured. Here is a recent account of a woman who became infertile after her abortion.
How is abortion good for women?

RABBIS SPEAK OUT FOR LIFE!
|
"It should be sufficient to state, regardless of statements made by representatives of Jewish organizations, that Jewish religious law looks upon abortion as the taking of life and prohibits it in all cases, except where a mother's life is endangered."
- Rabbi J. Bernard Merzel.

Tikvat Rachel Post-Abortion Healing Support Group
|
|
UPDATE: Our first online Tikvat Rachel group meetings on Zoom were an amazing experience for the women attendees. They were finally able to share and care with others who know what it's like to have an abortion. The women attendees found the personal interactions warm, accepting, compassionate and supportive. Most important, the Tikvat Rachel program helped them with their healing from previous negative abortion experiences.
We will keep everyone posted on our next Tikvat Rachel post-abortion healing group meetings after the High Holy Days. We hope to begin again in October.
All Jewish women and men who regret a past abortion experience are welcome. The venue is private and confidential.
For more information contact Barbara Beth: BarbaraBeth54@protonmail.com
We must revalue life and give women life-affirming options to keep their babies. We have a number of important pregnancy resource centers listed below that provide compassionate assistance to pregnant women in need.
