A Letter from the President
Hello lovely League members.
I cannot believe it is November!
Our council and general meetings are still on Zoom, however, I can tell that does not dampen our Junior League spirit. With so many DIAD's (Done in A Day) thanks to the Community Outreach Committee, the sign-up list was full for Forget Me Not Farms! (See more info on this DIAD below!) With your help in the community, you are showing that the League cares and gives our members a purpose in these trying times.
Even though Leagues are unable to travel for conferences and training, AJLI hosted a Special Meeting recently which 4 of our members, Corey, Nicole, Brooke, and Pauline, attended online.
Thank you to Laura Colgate from Valley of the Moon Children's Foundation (one of our 2020 grant recipients) for speaking at our October GMM. We also heard from active member Rachel Norwitt who joined Sonoma County Human Trafficking Task Force (SCHTTF) as the JLNS representative this past month.

President 2020-22

Junior League Gives Back!
Last month, our unstoppable League members spent part of a Saturday volunteering at Forget Me Not Farm.
Our volunteers cleaned stalls, cleared out the vegetable garden, and made a lot of new (four-legged) friends.
Thank you to all our volunteers for their hard work, enthusiasm, and social distancing!

Thanksgiving at VOICES Sonoma will look a little different this year. Because of COVID, VOICES will not be hosting their Thanksgiving meal; instead, they will be packing up individual meals to give to the VOICES community. VOICES has requested pre-packaged items to make 30+ meals. (They already have turkey taken care of.) Donations requested: mashed potatoes*, stuffing**, cranberry sauce, Rolls, Pies (pumpkin and apple are favorites), whipped cream, & salad kits. *Safeway and Oliver's have mashed potatoes. **Stuffing will be available closer to Thanksgiving.
Sign-up to contribute food here. Please contact VOICES with any questions or deliver your store-bought pre-packaged foods during Nov 17-20, Tue-Fri 12-4PM. 714 Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa.

The Valley of the Moon Children's Foundation is asking for gift card donations to support their Blue Bag program, as many of their bags were smoke damaged in the recent Glass Fire. The Blue Bag program provides a bag of supplies (clothing, hygiene, toys, blanket) for foster families to care for children placed with them on an emergency basis. Many times, these are kids 6-years-old and younger and frequently are not arriving with any of their own belongings. Each bag costs around $150 to assemble Gift cards from Safeway, Target, Walmart, Amazon, and Costco are greatly appreciated. For questions

THE LEAGUE CARES
Every general meeting we pass around our "TLC" box as another way to stay connected to our members. As it's passed around, you can put in a note requesting a card for a fellow member to celebrate good news or send supportive thoughts in a difficult time -- did they get a promotion at work? Have a new baby? Been sick? Are they grieving a family member or beloved pet? Our TLC box is funded by member donations.
