Janet Triplett grew up in Greensboro, NC and graduated from UNC with a BS in Interior Design and a minor in art. Early in her career she worked with a commercial architectural firm, followed by years as the director of design for the Wachovia Bank worldwide offices and as curator of Wachovia's corporate art collection.  When Janet transitioned to a career as a full time artist, her work initially included figurative pieces, landscapes and still life, but now she focuses primarily on landscapes. Her paintings masterfully capture the fleeting beauty of the natural world, from the quiet emergence of a morning mist to the vibrant, final glows of a setting sun. She enjoys painting from nature in her plein air work which she uses as a guide in producing her larger studio paintings. Living on Bald Head Island since 1997 has provided a wonderful source for her landscape and seascape work. The beauty that the sky holds for us daily calls Janet to paint it. Depicting the sky at various points in the day, she captures the way a sunrise or sunset can change in a matter of minutes. Triplett's mastery of light and atmosphere along with the soft edges that define Janet's style is on full display in her latest work. Each canvas invites you to pause and find a moment of tranquility.
