Celso has said that he doesn't know what he would have done without VOACC.
“If I wasn’t in this program, I honestly don’t know where I would be. [I would] probably be in the streets begging for food, shelter. I don’t think I would ever be where I am now.” – Celso
Today, Celso is doing much better. He is in school studying to become a certified counselor and has already started to give back to VOACC by serving on a Peer Support Advisory Committee.
There are many individuals from underserved Hispanic/Latino communities who want to experience recovery like Celso, but lack the resources and insurance needed to get high-quality care. It can also be a challenge finding care providers with the cultural and linguistic background they need to feel supported. We are so grateful to have supporters like you in our corner who understand these challenges. You make possible our ability to provide mental health and recovery services to Hispanic/Latino adults whether they have insurance or not through our "Yo Creo En Mi" (Faith in Me) program at our VOA Hope Center in Washington, DC.
You can make an impact in the life of someone like Celso today by giving to our VOA Hope Center. $100 a month provides a year of health services an adult without insurance needs to be well.
