It is the month of Juneteenth, Pride and Finding Out (in the form of Trump’s first federal indictment—FAFO, Donnie!).

So we’re going to raise the roof and raise money for the August special election in Ohio. We’re registering new Ohio Democrats so we can beat back a GOP sponsored amendment to Ohio’s constitution that would raise the threshold for approving future amendments to 60%—something the villains want to get done before a possible November ballot measure to codify abortion rights. Shady as hell!

THURSDAY, JUNE 15 & ON:

OHIO... COME ON DOWN!

Ohio’s first voter registration deadline is fast approaching (July 10… yikes!) and there’s so much going on there. It’s a critical state this year AND next! First, there’s an August special election where Republicans are pushing a referendum to make it harder to pass future popular referendums. (It’s a naked power grab by one of the most corrupt GOP cabals in the nation.) We need to register enough Democrats right now to VOTE THIS DOWN.

Then by the November 2023 general election, we need to register enough Democrats to pass an amendment cementing abortion rights in the state constitution. And keep that momentum rolling into 2024 so we can re-elect Sherrod Brown, one of our most vulnerable (and best) senators, in order to keep our all-important Senate majority.

Civic Sundays LA is now meeting in person on Sunday mornings at private locations in the Silverlake/Los Feliz/Eagle Rock area of Los Angeles. There are always multiple ways you can get involved in supporting progressive candidates up and down the ballot, locally and nationwide. Phonebanking, textbanking, postcarding and digital letter writing will be among the offerings—and you get to do it in person with your new friends!

California has so many swing districts that flipping just some could allow us to take back the House in '24!

One of those districts is California's 27th, the only remaining Republican district in LA County. It's represented by traitorous MAGA-bot Mike Garcia, who campaigned as a moderate, then promptly joined the Insurrection Caucus in voting to overturn Biden's victory. Let's retire him.
