Reminder: JPII Communication Norms

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I wanted to remind you of the communication norms at JPII. THIS document will help you decide whom you need to contact with any questions or concerns.

Part of being a college-prep school is preparing our students to be able to communicate well with adults. We will always expect the student to first speak with their teacher, counselor, dean, etc. if they have a question or a concern. We want our students to learn to advocate for themselves.

Please know that if an issue arises at school, the adults at JPII will talk to the student first. We will always contact parents to let them know, but we want to start with the student to try and resolve any issue.

Lastly, at the beginning of the year, Mr. Trevino reminded parents that if you need to meet with a teacher, coach, counselor, or administrator you must make an appointment. If you come to school without an appointment, we will not be able to meet with you and we ask that you do not go to a teacher's classroom without making an appointment with that teacher. If you do come to campus without an appointment, we will ask you to leave and return when an appointment has been made.

I hope you can understand the importance of these policies and the safety procedures we must follow.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Kayla Brown
