Dear Cardinal Family,

As we enter the season of Lent, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to guide and nurture your child's spiritual journey at JPII. Lent is a time of reflection, repentance, and renewal, and we are excited to embark on this meaningful journey together.

Throughout the season of Lent, our focus will center around deepening the connection between our students and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Lent provides us with a unique opportunity to pause, reflect, and draw nearer to Him.

We encourage you to engage in conversations with your child about the significance of Lent and how they can actively participate in this season of spiritual growth. Together, as a school community, we aim to create an atmosphere that fosters compassion, self-discipline, and a heightened awareness of our faith.

Please encourage your child to attend our weekly masses on Wednesday mornings, our praise and worship sessions on Wednesdays during Cardinal Break, and our Ministry Wednesday afternoon activities.

After our all-school Mass on Ash Wednesday, I asked our community to remember that Lent isn’t just about giving up something. It is about asking ourselves the question, “What can I do over the next 40 days that will strengthen my relationship with Jesus Christ?” May this Lenten season be a time of grace and transformation for your family. Thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of guiding your child on their journey.

Sincerely,

Kayla Brown

Happy Year of the Dragon!

Our Cardinal family celebrated the Lunar New Year last week. Our Chinese club had a field trip to experience our DFW Asian community celebration. Mr. Schrufnagal helped our Chinese language students make a dragon from scratch. Our orchestra director Mr. Jordan helped us with the instruments. The students paraded around our school with the dragon made by themselves!

JPII's Inclusion and Formation Council will be hosting the school's first-ever Multicultural Week!

Multicultural week is a time for those at JPII to share their culture and ethnicity to our school community as a way to promote diversity and inclusivity. At the end of the week, we will have a school wide soccer game for students to participate in and a food truck at the event as well.

Stay tuned!

DID YOU MISS THIS?

As many of you may know, COVID is still making its way through society. As such, we wanted to bring to your attention that as of November 20, 2023, the government has reinstated free COVID test kits. Every home in the U.S. is eligible to order an additional 4 free at-home tests beginning November 20. If you did not order tests this fall, you may place two orders for a total of 8 tests. Your order of COVID tests is completely free – you won’t even pay for shipping.

Please use the link below to place your order.
