Social Innovation Lab & University of Notre Dame
Over the summer, Ms. Melissa Downs, our Dean of Innovation and Academic Programs and Mr. Frank Santoni, Director of the Social Innovation Lab, were involved in the Church Communications Ecology Cohort Program and were able to attend the Church Communications Ecology Conference. This Conference provided a learning community for parish and lay leaders to develop a deeper understanding of the social and psychological effects that digital tools are having on individuals and communities. Ms. Downs and Mr. Santoni were able to present their work about our Social Innovation Lab students and the projects they worked on this year that integrated their learning at Notre Dame.
Their presentation was so well received that they were invited to present to a Vatican Committee of Young Communication Professionals in July! Join us in giving a huge kudos and congrats to Ms. Downs, Mr. Santoni, and all our students involved in the Social Innovation Lab!

Computer Science Students Get Certified
Mr. Schram shared with us that 18 students passed the PCEP Certification this year! PCEP is a Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer certification, it is a professional credential that measures the candidate's ability to accomplish coding tasks related to the essentials of programming in the Python language. This certification is a starting point to launch a career in software development, Python programming, and related technologies. Becoming PCEP certified helps certification holders stand out from other candidates, get a foot in the door with an employer, and land a junior-level job in the IT sector and anywhere the basic knowledge of Python is an asset. Our JPII students are not just college ready but they are career ready!
Over the past two years, we have over 30 students who have become certified before reaching college, join us in congratulating these students!
