With a heavy heart....
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at St. John Paul Catholic Church (2253 W. St. Joe Road, Sellersburg, IN 47172) from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with a funeral mass at 11:30 a.m
We are saddened to announce the recent death of Diana Jones. She touched many lives in her 22 years of service at JPII School until her recent retirement in 2021. She was a special person, and will be greatly missed by many.
Diana is survived by her husband, Bill, of 57 years, her daughters, Dana Fisher (Dennis) and Tina Thomas (Eric) and two wonderful grandchildren, Peyton and Olivia, who her world revolved around. She is also survived by her sister, Rita Sappenfield (Bob) and brothers-in-laws, Paul Jones and John Jones (Diana) and sisters-in-law, Nancy Russell (Mike) and Terri Jones (who helped care for her until the end).

KINDERGARTEN
Mrs. Bean's Smarties sorted teams for Red Ribbon Week!
FIRST GRADE
1BW learned about that Halloween decoration we carry around with us every day- our skeletons! We drew a directed drawing of our hand bones and painted it with baby oil so that the light would shine through. It looked like we had all made an x-ray of our hands!
Mrs. Brock and Mrs. Wetzel’s class had a wonderful time on their field trip to a PHS play!
SECOND GRADE
Mrs. Barber’s class enjoy their field trip to Providence High School to watch 33 Little Pigs. They got to see many JPII alumni.
FOURTH GRADE
The 4th-Graders enjoyed a trip to the Kentucky Science Center. They began their day by watching the 2-D movie Dream Big: Engineering our World, which inspires kids to be innovators. Afterward, they explored the center and experienced static electricity that was out of control and the Pathways Wall which was a real challenge, but a successful one.
New Member of the JPII School Family!
Mrs. Amanda Broderick
Middle School Assistant/Receptionist
Hello, my name is Amanda Broderick.
I am very blessed to be able to be part of the JPII Faculty/ Staff Family as a Middle School Assistant/ Receptionist.
I grew up in Sellersburg and attended St. Paul Elementary School (Class of 1999!). Some of my most cherished memories, come from this school. For the past 10 years, I have been a stay at home mom. My husband Kevin and I decided, this is the place we wanted our children to attend. Our son (4th grade) and daughter (2nd grade) love it here, which makes me very happy! I am very excited to be part of this school community again, with my children. I feel honored to have the opportunity to assist in the growth and development of the student body; especially in academics and religion.

From our JPII Parent Group:
The JPII Parent Group wishes to thank Sarah & Craig Thomas for creating such a cool trunk for the PHS trunk or treat last Thursday. The Thomas family is new to JPII and have really stepped up and helped our group in a major way. Middle schoolers Drew and Kayden racked up some service hours by handing out candy and interacting with all the adorable kiddos!

The Parent Group would like to give a huge thank you to Kavanaugh’s for their trunk or treat donation. They donated $100 towards the purchase of candy! We also want to thank anyone who sent in candy donations to the school. We couldn’t do this without you!
Lastly, the Parent Group would like to thank Sarah Thomas (again) and Olivia McCune for taking the lead on our used uniform sale. Last week, they set up on Thursday and Friday and were very successful! The group made $167 which will be used for future events.

Brooke Mayfield, Rose Ebling, and Holly Bronger were also among the mommas who lent a hand with the sale. Thank you! We are so appreciative of our new families stepping up and being so generous with their time.
