Community Outreach fulfills the JPS mission of “transforming healthcare delivery for the communities we serve” by strengthening and building community links, internal and external to the network, and improving the health and well-being of the residents in Tarrant County.

Community Outreach Updates

JPS Health Network plays a critical role in community outreach, engagement, education, and healthcare. Our teams are committed to addressing the changing needs of the Tarrant County community. JPS is devoted to being in the forefront of innovative programs and partnerships as community needs change. We are excited to give an update on our ongoing outreach efforts and share several new partnerships that were developed in 2023.

2023 Year in Review

Councilmember Dr. Jared Williams hosted an Open House event on April 11 in District 6. Community members were able to connect with Fort Worth PD, Code Compliance, and learn about services in the community. This event provided JPS with an opportunity to engage with residents and share more about JPS and our future Medical Home Southwest. 

Family Expo and Resource Fair

 

JPS Outreach team members attended the Arlington Family Expo and Resource Fair on April 13. This event hosted by Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Inc. provided resources to students and families in order to prepare for the next school year.

Open Streets Festival


JPS Behavioral Health outreach team members participated in the Fort Worth Open Streets Festival on April 13. This community wide event provided an opportunity for team members to share information JPS programs and services.

Kidney Awareness Community Celebration


Healthy Lives Matter along with the National Kidney Foundation, Fort Worth Renal Group, and the City of Fort Worth hosted a Kidney Awareness Community Celebration on April 6. This celebration had guest speakers, food, music, health screenings, giveaways, and more.

Master Facility Plan Update

Psychiatric Emergency Center

The Psychiatric Emergency Center (PEC) is expected to open in 2025. Construction crews have begun to build the steel frame. The PEC is designed to treat patients experiencing mental health crises. The facility will double the number of care spaces and separate units for adults and adolescents.

Mental Health Awareness Month

During National Mental Health Awareness Month, be a part of the conversation. Your mental health matters! Good mental health can help you cope with stress and improve your quality of life. If you or someone you know is struggling or has concerns about their mental health, we are here to help. JPS is dedicated to delivering timely, quality care to the communities we serve. JPS strives to meet your needs with a variety of treatment options including evaluation diagnosis, medication management, psychotherapy, psychological testing, and group therapies.

Community Events and Partnerships

JPS Health Network in partnership with the Tarrant Area Food Bank are helping patients reach optimum health. This new partnership provides extra support to patients with diabetes or heart disease. The Food Rx Program offers patients weekly education classes, ready to eat meals, along with SNAP application assistance.
