2021 was a time of growth and change for JPS Community Outreach. We acknowledge the importance that Community Outreach plays in improving and extending the reach of healthcare. JPS has experienced an unprecedented need for services and restructured our programs and services in response.
As a result of COVID-19, JPS has continued to develop innovative ways to engage the community and patients, while navigating through the pandemic. JPS Community Outreach remains dedicated to conducting outreach activities in the safest, most effective way possible. While not being physically present in the community and meeting face-to-face, JPS Community Outreach has been working hard to continue to make an impact throughout Tarrant County.

Along with the JPS Health Network Board of Managers and Tarrant County Commissioners Court, JPS is currently developing plans to greatly expand our ability to care for the people of Tarrant County. This 10-year Bond Program will expand the services at the JPS Main Campus and its ambulatory network in Tarrant County.

Mental Health Awareness Month | |

For Mental Health Awareness Month, NAMI will amplify the message of “Together for Mental Health.” We will use this time to bring our voices together to advocate for mental health and access to care through NAMI’s blog, personal stories, videos, digital toolkits, social media engagements, and national events.
Together, we can realize our shared vision of a nation where anyone affected by mental illness can get the appropriate support and quality of care to live healthy, fulfilling lives.

We all feel sad, stressed, scared, or angry sometimes. If these feelings are overwhelming, impacting your quality of life, or if you feel like you are just struggling a little, we are here to help you. May is mental health month and we want to bring the conversation about mental health to you. Our goal is to remind you of the support available here at JPS Behavioral Health and push back against the stigma associated with mental illness and seeking mental wellness through treatment.

Get ready for live music and loads of family fun! Father FEST Arlington 2022 will be held at the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Field at Workman Junior High School on May 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.!
The free outdoor event is a fun celebration of fatherhood and families! All are invited to enjoy live music, food, vendors, and fun interactive family activities.
The festival will bring community partners and resources together to equip and support families, particularly for the summer months. Get free books for summer reading, free vision screenings, oral health lessons, giveaways, and a whole lot more. Plus, there will be important information and resources from partners like Arlington Public Libraries, Arlington Police Department, the YMCA, and many more. Arlington Parks and Rec will be there with information on summer camps for kids, Camp Gladiator will have an obstacle course for kids and adults, and Arlington ISD’s FFA students will help families plant a seed and explain how to care for it at home. That’s just the beginning.
Father FEST is an initiative of Arlington ISD Dads Engaged for Excellence, a program designed to encourage dads, uncles, brothers, and all adult males to serve as positive role models and become more active in their students’ education.

Meet Tarrant County Commissioner Roy Charles Brooks
Roy Charles Brooks stands at the forefront of one of the fastest growing urban counties in the United States. Tarrant County serves a population of approximately 2 million citizens. For over 30 years, Roy has represented his community, as a community volunteer, a city elected official, and now as County Commissioner. He embraces the core values of integrity, innovation and growth. Roy is committed to the health and welfare of the people. Since entering office in 2004, he is continuously addressing the healthcare issues in his community. He continues to take on issues such as: Healthcare for the Homeless, Infant Mortality, Obesity, Access of Care, Health Disparities, and Aids Education. Roy is aggressively involved in the State and Federal levels of government to assist in developing programs that create and shape healthcare policy in this Nation’s counties.
