Cooking Up Better Health with JPS

Healthy, hands-on classes for the community

JPS offers free cooking classes to help people learn how to make healthy, easy meals. These classes are led by JPS Lifestyle Medicine physicians and the Community Outreach team.

In each class, participants get to try simple cooking skills, learn about healthy food, and take home tasty, plant-based recipes. Eating well can help your body and mind feel better—and JPS is here to help you get started.

Psychiatric Emergency Center Construction Update

A New Era in Behavioral Health Care

Coming this summer: the new Psychiatric Emergency Center at JPS.

Work continues on the new Psychiatric Emergency Center (PEC), the next project to open as part of JPS's Master Facility Plan. Designed with healing, safety, and comfort in mind, the PEC will provide a calming environment for patients in crisis. The space incorporates soft, natural tones, open layouts, and soothing lighting to reduce stress and promote a sense of well-being. Every design element—like the curved ceilings pictured above - to the thoughtfully arranged patient areas—has been intentionally crafted to foster a secure, therapeutic atmosphere.

Coping with life stressors can be hard, but we’re here to help you and your family navigate what life may throw your way! Our Outpatient Behavioral Health team will be on-site at LVTRise this summer, hosting free weekly sessions on mental health and well-being.
