American Diabetes Month

Every year, the American Diabetes Association works to increase awareness related to the diabetes epidemic. For the millions who are at risk for diabetes, it’s a time to get educated, find resources, and make sure all are aware of their risk. And for the millions of people living with diabetes, it’s a chance to share their stories.

Free diabetes education classes are offered on Thursdays at 1 p.m. by the JPS Community Health & Wellness program at Como Community Center.

COVID-19 & Flu Updates

As part of a COVID-19 Health Disparity Grant, JPS Community Outreach is conducting a voluntary survey to help us improve and reduce COVID-19 health disparities. This survey will help us gather information about ways people reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Do you need a COVID-19 or flu test or vaccine?

If you are a patient at JPS:

JPS patients can use MyChart or call 817-702-1100 to schedule an appointment with their PCP.

If you are NOT a patient at JPS:

Those needing COVID-19 testing or vaccines can visit to find a location nearest you.

CDC recommends that people ages 5 years and older get one updated (bivalent) booster that protects against the original COVID-19 variant and the new variants if it has been at least two months since their last COVID-19 vaccine dose.

People who have gotten more than one original (monovalent) booster that only protects against the original COVID-19 variant are also recommended to get an updated (bivalent) booster to get protection from new variants also.
