June 2020 — Issue #33
A Word from the CEO

As summer approaches, volatility surrounds us. George Floyd's death in police custody unleashed demonstrations worldwide. Despite signs that parts of the economy are coming back to life, The New York Times reports that COVID-19 infection rates continue to increase in more than 20 states. And, after the S&P 500 recovered much of its decline from early in the pandemic, on June 11th it fell nearly 6% - only to rebound a few days later.

The resulting uncertainty causes us to question what we know. It's a good time to review basic investment principles.

Test your knowledge of these concepts by taking our quiz. These 15 questions cover building an investment portfolio, sound principles of personal financial management and using your investments to generate income in retirement. Don't worry; no one's keeping score. Everyone who takes the quiz is a winner.

As people continue returning to work in many parts of the country, we pray for your continued health. If you are experiencing financial hardship, please know that you can always turn to the JRB to discuss these concerns. We are just an email or phone call (888-JRB-FREE) away.
