Jarbou Ronnisch Construction News | November 2026
Good Work. Good People. Plenty to Be Thankful For
A deeper commitment to Detroit. A finished store in Canton. Big progress in Dearborn.
This November, we're sharing the work and recognizing the people behind it.

We could have leased. We chose to own. JRC will invest $3 million to $4 million in capital improvements, including facade renovations and tenant build-outs, and will serve as owner and landlord. Our sister company, Symmetry Management, will manage the property. Current tenants include Gensler and Edition Residences & Hotel Detroit.
The building itself has a story worth telling. Detroit architects Spier & Rohns designed it in 1897, and it was long known as the Bamlet Building. In 2013, Bedrock purchased it and Neumann Smith Architects renovated it as part of the revival of Capitol Park, turning a long-vacant property into one of downtown's distinctive office addresses. Now it's our turn to add the next chapter.

"We looked at a lot of possibilities for this move, and we certainly could have leased space. But we're committed to Detroit, and we wanted our investment to reflect that. It was the right time, the right building and the right neighborhood for us to double down in the city."

NORDSTROM RACK | CANTON, MI
The Racks Are Filled. Our Work Is Complete.
There's a moment in every retail project when the space starts to belong to the people who will use it. Merchandise arrives. Displays go up. A building that's been a construction site for months finally looks like a place to shop.
That's where things stand at Nordstrom Rack in Canton. JRC has completed the transformation of an existing retail space into a new shopping destination, working with development owner Symmetry Management to bring the project across the finish line.
Where crews once worked, racks now stand filled and ready for customers. It's another investment in an existing retail property, giving familiar space a new purpose and shoppers a new reason to visit.

FROM THE FIELD | DEARBORN, MI
A Lot Has Changed Since Our Last Look
When we last checked in on Dearborn, we were breaking ground. If you haven't seen the site since, it's time for another look.
The 122,000-square-foot, ground-up Kroger Marketplace has made major progress. On a project this size, the wide view is impressive. What it doesn't show is the daily coordination behind it: crews working through their scopes, deliveries arriving, questions getting answered, and the next phase being planned while the current one is still underway.
Superintendent Corey Fraiser is leading that effort in the field, and he and the project team have earned a shoutout for the progress behind this update. There's plenty more ahead, and we'll keep sharing as Dearborn's new Kroger Marketplace takes shape.

OUR PEOPLE
the Experience Behind the Work
Some of JRC's most important progress comes through the people taking on greater responsibility.
We're pleased to recognize Jason Haney's promotion to Safety Director, along with Matt Distelrath, Derrick Bowers and Ryan Willis, who have each been promoted to Senior Superintendent.
These roles shape how our projects run and how our teams work together. From daily decisions in the field to safety leadership across every site, their work sets the standard for the people around them. Congratulations to Jason, Matt, Derrick and Ryan, and thank you for the experience, judgment and commitment you bring to JRC.
