Two Part Complimentary Legal Clinic
On Fridays, February 17th and 24th in the
Incarnation Church at 7 PM, Sin Barreras will educate the local immigrant community on their rights while interacting with ICE agents and police officers. This workshop will also help community members prepare a security plan for their families.
Sin Barreras has an urgent need for Spanish-speaking volunteers to help them cover their phone lines and enter call information remotely. They have experienced a high call volume recently and don't expect things to slow down. "Our clients need to hear a human voice, and be treated with patience and care." Please reach out if you can help during a weekly shift.
Volunteers are needed for the legal clinic on Friday, February 24th. If you or someone you know is a Virginia attorney or notary willing to help, please email firstname.lastname@example.org; bilingual is appreciated, but not required.
Assistant coordinators are needed for the annual Help Fair on April 22nd. If you are interested in organizing, developing, and making the fair a success, reach out to let us know.
Saturday, February 25th at 4 PM inside of UVA's Newcomb Hall Literacy Volunteers and the International Rescue Committee will be hosting a celebration of language diversity. Listen to poetry and songs from the world's languages. Sign up to perform by contacting Tanya at email@example.com or (434) 872-3174.
