Don’t endanger your project by waiting until the last minute to rush through the environmental due diligence process which can result in serious (and expensive) consequences. It’s not just a matter of being aware of the existing conditions and recent land uses on your project site, but it is also critical that you learn and assess how the previous site use was managed; what is happening (and has happened) next door; and what is happening (and has happened) on property that is uphill from your site.

JSD Engineer Courtney Cox took some time with the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County for their “She Builds” summer camp held at their BRAND-NEW McKenzie Workforce Center. Middle-school girls learned civil engineering techniques and took a stab at designing a facility by making their own design changes to JSD’s actual plans for the workforce center! 

JSD is honored to donate $1,500 to sponsor five Appleton families in need, taking the families from homelessness to housing. For more than 10 years, The Hope Center in Appleton has been providing MONTHLY support to more than 150 local families offering personal hygiene items and food, all the way to clothing, diapers and more!

The brand-new Oregon Public Library will soon be an incredible enhancement to the Village of Oregon as JSD’s team of designers worked alongside its Library Board several years ago leading to this finished product!

JSD provided professional consulting services on the new campus for Marshfield Medical Center – Ladysmith which opened this past Spring offering emergency/urgent care, surgical services, cardiac rehab, physical/occupational/speech therapy and pharmaceutical. 

JSD Full of Pride for Military Staff Member

We could not be prouder of our very own Brett Karns, JSD’s project surveyor who recently returned from serving nine months in Kuwait!

Brett will be retiring from the military at the end of this year after he began in the Army in 1997 as a heavy equipment operator making trips to Alaska and Guatemala for road work.
