I was invited to the Central Southern Province High School Leadership Group assembly last weekend. The photo was taken at the end of the meeting while Geoff Miller, Provincial Assistant for Secondary and Pre-Secondary Education, was gathering feedback from the schools about their planning for the future. Terrific Ignatian Educators!

The spring sessions of the Seminars in Ignation Leadership are underway! Our prayers go with the leadership teams and the participants, and especially with those participants who will have graduated the Seminars at the end of this month.

If you would like to participate in the next cycle of Seminars in Ignatian Leadership, enrollment is now open for cohorts starting in the fall of 2018 and the fall of 2019 . Please contact your principal or president.

Faces of DACA: Brophy Prep Shares Their Story, Hoping For Action
In October 2017, two Brophy College Preparatory students who are beneficiaries of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which provides protection from immigration enforcement to individuals brought illegally to the U.S. as children, stood in the Brophy gym before a large group of their peers. 

Rockhurst High School to Host STEM Conference in March
In March of 2017,  Rockhurst High School earned an AdvancED STEM Certification.  As a result of this achievement,  AdvancED  asked Rockhurst to host a STEM Conference to help communicate with other schools best practices that other schools can implement for their students.

  1. For over thirty years, the University of San Francisco's Summer West program has shaped Catholic education practice, discussion and research, both nationally and internationally.
  2. The Secondary Schools Academy next fall is jointly sponsored by St. Louis University, Jesuit Schools Network, NCEA, and others. Check out the Academy if you are interested in president or principal leadership formation.
  3. The annual NCEA Convention will be in Cincinnati during Easter week.
  4. The Education Law Symposium in July is co-sponsored by the NCEA and Loyola Marymount University's Center for Catholic Education. It offers presentations on the law as it applies to Catholic education and ministry.
