It's Seminar Season!
Last week the Nadal Cohort kicked off the Fall sessions of the Seminars in Ignatian Leadership.
The Jesuit Schools Network Board of Directors met in Denver September 25-27. The meeting had a distinct sense of “business as usual” rather than the “transition to JSN” sense we’ve had. Our strategic planning last year gave us priorities and immediate goals to work on, so it was good for the Board to grapple with those issues in the context of all the wonderful things happening in our schools, provinces, and the Conference office.

The Board was blessed to have Fr. John Fitzgibbon, S.J., president of Regis University , spend a couple of hours with us sharing reflections on discernment – John's a good story-teller and gave us lots of food for thought as we work to come to terms with the General Congregation's urgings for reconciliation.

Jesuit Conference and Ignatian Solidarity Network Unveil Ecological Examen
The Jesuit Conference of Canada and the United States has partnered with the Ignatian Solidarity Network to launch an Ecological Examen , inspired by St. Francis of Assisi and, of course, St. Ignatius of Loyola.

The Ecological Examen is similar to a traditional Ignatian examen in that it offers five simple steps for reflection. Unlike a traditional examen, however, this new one takes cues from Pope Francis's encyclical Laudato Si', asking for reflection on an individual's relationship with creation, questions on ecological justice, and solidarity with those most impacted by environmental harm.
