Women's Race Set for
Labor Day Weekend
There's still time to register or volunteer!

JSRC will host our 22nd annual womens' race, the Saturday in the Park 5K, on September 5, Holmdel Park, to benefit local womens charities.
Since the beginning it has been a fundraiser for women's causes and a Women Only event. Volunteers are needed at every level -- especially on race day. There are plenty of prizes and drawings for both runners and volunteers. Shirts and hats will be given to all registrants. Here's your chance to sign up and run the famous "bowl"
If you can't run, sign up to volunteer, you are needed. Contact Penny Hinck to let her know if you can volunteer.
Memorial Run  - September 11
Jersey Shore 9-11 Memorial Run
Friday, September 11  |  Belmar, NJ
To memorialize all from the Jersey Shore who
were lost on September 11, 2001

This run begins on the Boardwalk across from Dunkin Donuts on 16 th  Avenue at   6 p.m.
This is not a Rac e, but a run of a bout 4 miles.

We start in Belmar with the reading of the first section of names from  the Jersey Shore who were lost on that tragic day. We run in  Silence as a group to the September 11 Memorial in Spring Lake,  where more names will be read by all of the runners and flags and  flowers will be placed on the memorial. We then proceed to a  memorial as a group again in silence where the rest of the names will  be read. After an additional moment of silence, we return to the  start.
A post run reception will then be held for all of the participants.
There is no charge or registration fee, no t-shirts, no clock,  no bib numbers and no awards.
It will be your most  memorable run of the year.

My wife Bonnie battled for her life for two and a half years.

She fought the battle with Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). She won the battle; but in the end, an infection in her surgically reconstructed digestive system led to her passing.

Most people have never heard of Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). It is a rare, but extremely deadly form of cancer. Most people, when diagnosed, die in just weeks or months. We were blessed to have Bonnie for more than two years after the diagnosis.

Bonnie I were together for 38 years; she is the love of my life. She left me with 3 wonderful children, a grandchild and another grandchild on the way. She cared more about her family than herself.
Bonnie habitually would pick up change she found every time she went for a walk. We enjoyed many walks together and I 'd help her pick up change. I am a runner. When I'd find change on my runs, I'd bring it home to her; it always made her smile. I always gave her whatever change I had in my pockets; that also made her smile. I loved her smile. She would save the change to buy gifts for her family.

I am running a 40-mile race on September 26 in Hanover, Pennsylvania to honor Bonnie.  It will be the longest race of my life.

I would like to honor my wife Bonnie by raising money for the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. I am asking everyone to pick up change and save whatever change they have for the next month and donate it to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation.

Please help me spread the word. Share this post with everyone you know.
Just think if we can get this to go viral how much just a few dollars per person can add up to. Please help me raise money to fight this horrible disease.
You may donate on my First Giving page  or directly to the Foundation
