President's Message
Welcome Back Sears Families!
I enjoyed seeing most of you at the Meet and Greet last Friday morning.  The children (as well as many parents) looked eager for school to begin again.

A big thank you to Paula Smith and Bobbi Rowe for hosting a fabulous Newcomer's Party.  We welcome over 30 new families to Sears school this year.  Thank you also to those who have volunteered to be host families to our newcomers.  If you see a new face, please take the time to introduce yourself.  We were all new at one time or another!

Yani Huften and Beth Ottsen coordinated a delicious lunch for our faculty and staff, after school on Monday.  An Apple a Day provided sandwiches, salads, fruit and cookies.  Thank you, Yani and Beth, for feeding our amazing team of teachers!

Lastly, thank you to Candice Stepan and her crew of volunteers for a great Family Fun Day!  Another great Sears tradition was enjoyed by many!!

I hope you and your children have a wonderful first week back.

Kath Lyman
JSSPVA President

Volunteer to help the JSSPVA
Each year volunteers provide services to enrich school programs and raise money for school needs.   Volunteering is a great way to be involved with the Sears Community. The Committee Chairs are looking  forward to a wonderful year and are very grateful for your support.

Attached is a list of many of the JSSPVA Committees that have requested assistance for the upcoming  school year. Please check as many as you are interested in, as not all committees need help every year. There
are big and small jobs for every interest.

Please return the filled out sheet to Sarah Mohr.  Thank you.

Volunteer opportunity in The Library Technology Center (LTC)
Volunteering in the  LTC is a great way to contribute to Sears School
and experience time with children in their school environment!
Come and help our children check in / out books and laptops, restock and  straighten  the shelves and assist Elisabeth LeBris with small projects
We are still looking for volunteers for Monday and Friday mornings!

If interested, please contact:  Melissa Ross (312-961-5822)   mahross22@gmail.com
