The Welcome Team is the first friendly face people meet on Sunday—and they do a lot more than smile at the door. Whether you’re greeting visitors, showing someone where to go, making coffee, or helping the room feel warm and ready, you’re part of building belonging at JUC.
Here’s how you can help:
-
Greeters: Say hello, answer questions, help newcomers feel grounded.
-
Ushers: Help people find seats, close sanctuary doors, light the chalice candle, count the offering.
-
Coffee Crew: Brew, set up, clean up—the easiest way to create community is with coffee.
-
Commons Coordinators: Make sure everything is running smoothly behind the scenes.
-
Laundry Help: Take home towels or aprons to wash—small task, big impact.
It only takes showing up 30 minutes before service, but the welcome you help create lasts long after people walk in the door.
Want to learn more or give it a try? We’ll train you. You belong here—and so does your helping hand.
