In a consumer society like ours, it is hard to purchase a gift to someone that they would actually want. If we take money out of it, what is an intangible gift of the spirit we would offer? This question points to the reflection that our summer speakers will be offering: if you could give a gift of the spirit to our church, what would it be?

The Power of Our Name Phase 2 Begins!

Last Day to Suggest a Name: Friday, July 18

81.5% of votes by members supported changing the church name, surpassing the required 60% threshold. With this clear direction, we are now moving into Phase 2 of our renaming journey. Auction Event: Four Hands Piano Recital

Sunday, July 13 | 4 pm | $15

Adam Revell and Jude Markel will dazzle us on the piano. Solos! Duets! Join them in our sanctuary and enjoy an afternoon of two master pianists making music for your enjoyment. This event was dreamed up by Bob Drew, cherished member of blessed memory. Children are free when accompanied by an adult.

Annual Red Cross Blood Drive

Wednesday, August 6 | 1 - 6 pm

Reserve your time slot to donate blood with Red Cross, and help keep the supply afloat! Click the sign up button and enter code JUC to reserve a spot. Bring a photo ID or your blood donor card, or two other forms of ID.

After 6 years, our beloved JUC Fall Retreat is returning! Join us for a weekend of fun, community, and beautiful mountain views. Campfire Sing-a-long Potluck

Join us for our 3rd annual Campfire Potluck Singalong- an evening of summer fun, food, singing and s'mores right on our JUC patio. Please bring a dish to share! Feel free to bring a campfire song to share if the spirit moves you. Instruments are also encouraged! All ages welcome and invited to attend!

Sundae Sunday

Sunday, August 3 | 11 am - 12 pm

During the height of summer join us on the patio after church for an Ice Cream Party! All are welcome and encouraged to enjoy a sweet treat while connecting with other JUCers. Help us make this a multi-generational event that is enjoyed by all! We need a few volunteers to make the magic happen.

Mario Kart Tournament

Friday, August 8 | 6:30 pm | For Youth

Show your skills in our Mario Kart tournament! We'll set up our first rounds in the chapel over several TVs. Final round will be played in the Sanctuary while everyone watches! Be there to support your friends or play for the championship title! Dinner at 6:30 and tournament set up at 7 pm.

Women's Group

Come together with people of all ages who identify as women to foster community, support one another, and embrace Unitarian Universalist values. Queer Connections Group

2nd Mondays | 7 pm | Next meeting: July 14

This is a compassionate safe space dedicated to adults (18+) of the LGBTQIA+ community. It's a time to socialize, give input on future events, share stories, support each other's voices, approach spirituality from a queer lens, discuss current social and political issues affecting our community, and collaborate on ways to lift up queer folks, young and old. Mindfulness Meditation

Union of Unitarian Universalist Gamers

This group uses tabletop roleplaying games to build community, exercise creativity, and celebrate their unique voice. No prior experience is necessary.

Drumming Circle

Celebrate Jill Armstrong for her remarkable dedication to JUC’s social justice efforts!

From her impactful work with JUC’s Just Neighboring in Edgewater, to her committed leadership as Chair of JUC’s Community Action Network (CAN), Jill has been a steadfast advocate and servant of our community for over a decade. Though she’s stepping back from some leadership duties to enjoy some well-earned family time, her passion for justice remains as strong as ever. Jill continues to inspire us with her commitment and heart for service. We’re deeply grateful for all she’s done—and all she will continue to do. Please post on Jill's Kudoboard to show your appreciation!

2025 Colorado Secular Student Activist Scholarship Application

Applications due July 31

These modest scholarships support student leaders who are fighting for justice & equality through intersectional activism on their campus (high school, trade school, junior college, or college). Whether an applicant is leading a student organization, championing civil rights, speaking out against discrimination, or creating space for students to connect & thrive, the scholarship is intended to support this important work. Besides the general activist scholarship, there also are scholarships for specific activism,

such as that for LGBTQ+ rights & gender equality.
