  • Social Justice Challenge // Climate Justice Revival Workshop // 1 - 5 pm // Through conversations, worship, and advocacy, congregations will work together to realize climate justice and collective liberation in our communities. Signup Link
  • Union of Unitarian Universalist Gamers // 5 - 9 pm // This group uses the medium of tabletop roleplaying games (Dungeons and Dragons) to foster a space where people can build community, exercise creativity, and celebrate their unique voice.   • CUUPS: Earth Honoring Traditions 101 // 6 - 7:30 pm // Join us as we reflect on the Earth Honoring Traditions around the world. We will be learning about different traditions from Kemetism to Wiccan and more! Every meeting will be different and learning about our siblings in paganism. Oct 5) Paul Kopek from Xcel Energy will talk about incentives for home batteries, passive house construction, EVs and chargers, energy audits, efficiency upgrades and others.   • Social Justice Challenge // Help at Earthlinks of Denver // 1 pm // Spread hay mulch, trim raised beds, wash flower pots, cold weather seed, starting, weeding, deep cleaning, some chalk decoration throughout the garden. Signup Link
  • First Friday Open Mic // 6 pm dinner, 7pm show (performers arrive by 6:50 pm) // sanctuary // First Friday Open Mic is for singers, dancers, instrumentalists, comics, poets, and storytellers of all skill levels are welcome. Kid performances are encouraged. Please sign up to attend the community pizza dinner ($5/person; $20/family suggested donation) so we know how much food to provide.   • Social Justice Challenge // Naming and Exploring Bias // 10 am // Join Katie Bradford for an engaging presentation covering the one fundamentals of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) – exploring bias. From acknowledging our own personal biases to recognizing how bias impacts our daily perceptions, Katie will share her experiences as DEIB professional, arts educator and parent. Exploring the nuances of DEIB in a safe space provides participants the tools to learn and grow. DEIB can be messy- don’t be afraid to “fail forward.” Signup Link

  • Social Justice Challenge // Colorado Ballot Measures // 6 - 8 pm // Presented by the Jeffco League of Women Voters, this session will cover the pros and cons of various statewide ballot measures, along with the League's positions on what they’ve researched.   • Reproductive Justice Initiatives // 7 - 10 pm // At First Unitarian Society of Denver we welcome Pam Houston to our pulpit to read from her book: Without Exception, Reclaiming Abortion, Personhood, and Freedom. Pam will be signing and selling books after her reading in the community room. Refreshments provided. RSVP so we will order enough books, or order her book here.

Five Thursdays, October 10 - Nov 7

  • Working and Living Together in Golden // Golden Public Library // 6:30 - 7:45 // A five- week participatory group which focuses on moving past what divides us to find what unites us. This gathering will cover five habits that come from Parker Palmer, author of Healing the Heart of Democracy. Each week will cover a different habit and explore how to practice it daily.
