4th/5th OWL (Our Whole Lives)

Begins Sunday, January 5 // 9:00 am // Sign up by Thursday, December 20 // In Our Whole Lives: Sexuality Education for Grades 4-5, children learn about the changes of puberty while discussing respect and relationships. Parents and caregivers learn how to be actively involved in exploring growing older, values, communication, and decision-making. Classes are held Sundays, January 5 - March 16 from 9 to 10:30 am. Priority will be given to 5th graders. For your child to participate, parents and children must attend class together on Sunday, January 5, from 9 to 11 am. You must register in advance. 


Grief Sharing Group

Tuesdays from November 26 - December 17 // 3 - 4:30 pm // This time of year can heighten grief. Each person's experience of loss is unique, but need not be faced alone. If you are experiencing grief, please join Rev. Wendy for a sacred sharing circle. Sign Up


Thanksgiving Dinner at JUC

There will be a potluck dinner at JUC on Thanksgiving at 4 pm (Thursday, November 28)! Bring a side dish and hosts will provide turkey. Sign Up


28th Annual Craft Faire Volunteers Needed

The JUC Craft Faire is on Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7! Help us make our 28th Anniversary a success. We're looking for 60 volunteers to keep things running smoothly, from setting up tables to running check out to baking cookies for the bake sale. 


Spiritual Practice: Centering Prayer

Tuesday, December 3 // 6:30 - 8 pm // JUCers are invited to learn about and engage in a spiritual practice that might be new to them or to which they want to commit at a deeper level. December’s class will focus on the spiritual practice of Centering Prayer and will be led by our Intern Minister, Michael DeSantis. Centering prayer is a great tool for staying grounded amidst the myriad stresses of our world and busyness of the holiday season! Sign Up

  • Yoga As You Are: A Spiritual Practice // 2 - 3 pm // 2nd, 4th, & 5th Thursdays // chapel // This class is open to people of all abilities and levels of experience. There will be opportunities for people who aren’t able to get on and off the floor. Bring a yoga mat or a beach towel, plus any yoga props you already own. Contact: Martha Eastman
  • Drumming Circle // NEW TIME! 2:30 - 4 pm // 3rd Thursdays // Join fellow JUCers for an evening of ecstatic drumming, and possibly dancing. No drumming experience required, no age or physical limits. Bring a hand drum if you have one, but we also have extra drums and other instruments to share. Dancers are always welcome! Contact: Bill Barr

  • Union of Unitarian Universalist Gamers // 5 - 9 pm // chapel // This group uses the medium of tabletop roleplaying games (Dungeons and Dragons) to foster a space where people can build community, exercise creativity, and celebrate their unique voice. Social Justice Film Series

  • Friday, December 6 // 6:30 pm // First Universalist Church of Denver, 4101 East Hampden Ave. // Our film screening for December is Origin a 2023 American biographical drama film written and directed by Ava DuVernay. It is based on the life of Isabel Wilkerson, played by Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, as she writes the book Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents. Wilkerson travels throughout Germany, India, and the United States to research the caste systems in each country's history. Discussion after the film screening. Bring snacks to share if possible.
