QUUest Camp
July 6 - 12 | Casper, Wyoming
Join other JUC youth this summer at QUUest Camp held in Casper, WY. QUUest camp provides a spiritual adventure where youth live our UU faith through workshops, daily worship, personal reflection, and community-building activities like crafts, hikes, swimming, and bonfires. These immersive experiences foster faith development, deepen connections, and integrate social justice into what it means to be UU. Scholarships are available. Deadline to register is Monday, June 2.

Green Task Force: Electricity, Education, Entrepreneurship - A Solar Case Study from India
Thursday, May 22 | 7 pm
Our presenter, Ranjan Sen, will introduce IEEE’s Smart Village project in West Bengal, which generates electricity, educates locals, and fosters entrepreneurial projects made possible with solar power. The project is also an example of an intriguing decentralized approach for education that allows for local development. Please plan to stay for a reception with food, drinks, and conversations afterwards.

Cook Team Opportunity for Home In Golden

Home in Golden is a Safe Parking Lot started in 2020 by First United Methodist Church in Golden. (Safe Parking provides safe places for individuals who are maintaining shelter within their vehicle). We have the opportunity to form a cook team to plan, prepare, and serve a Sunday meal. The obligation is once a month, serving about 15 people at Home In Golden. Integrity in Relationships: How does “Parts Work” Support our Relationships?

Join us for an opportunity to explore a tool for understanding yourself and your relationships in a different light. Using a 6-parts system framework, we will explore how we might more feel grounded and wholly tended to as individuals and in our various relationships. Couples are encouraged to attend, but this is truly open to all. A light dinner will be served and childcare is available. Delegates Needed for General Assembly

Jefferson Unitarian Church is a member congregation of the Unitarian Universalist Association and eligible to assign up to 13 delegates to the annual national assembly, June 18-22, 2025 in Baltimore. Any JUC member in good standing is eligible to serve as a delegate either in person or remotely.

Democratizing AI Before It’s Too Late

How could the public better participate in determining AI's impact on society? This talk is presented by Ralph Hughes, an OLLI instructor on AI and political economy, who's currently writing a book outlining the dangers of generative AI. Join us at Jefferson Unitarian Church for socializing and enjoying our community table of food and drink. The program is sponsored by Jefferson Humanists, a chapter of the American Humanist Association.

Lay Ministry Training with Rev. Cindy Pincus
July - September | Zoom Info Session: June 8, 4 - 5 pm
Volunteers will be working with about 200 elders at Mountain Vista Senior Living. The program is appropriate for folks aged 16 and up. Robust onboarding and ongoing monthly trainings (hospice, social services, dementia/alzheimers, etc.) will be provided. Volunteers will have a chance to give direct care ministry to residents, participate in group spiritual activities like Bible Study and Worship, and receive one-on-one mentorship Rev. Pincus. At the end of the program, volunteers will have the opportunity to continue volunteering. Use this link for the info session on Sunday, June 8 at 4 pm.

2025 Colorado Secular Student Activist Scholarship Application

These modest scholarships support student leaders who are fighting for justice & equality through intersectional activism on their campus (high school, trade school, junior college, or college). Whether an applicant is leading a student organization, championing civil rights, speaking out against discrimination, or creating space for students to connect & thrive, the scholarship is intended to support this important work. Besides the general activist scholarship, there also are scholarships for specific activism,
such as that for LGBTQ+ rights & gender equality.
