E-News - JULY 2019
July is a busy month of ministry at National Heights. Be in prayer for Centrikid Camp (July 8-12), Boys Camp (July 15-19), Girls Camp (July 22-26), Worldchangers Youth Mission Trip (July 14-22), and Vacation Bible School (July 29-August 2). Each of these provides multiple opportunities for life transformation through the power of Christ. Also, pray for our new Sunday evening outreach service happening in the Welcome foyer. The next service is Sunday, July 21 at 6:30 – bring a friend! Don’t miss Zach Manes preaching Sunday, July 14 in the evening service. Zach grew up in our children and youth ministries and is now preparing for the ministry. Come hear what God has put on his heart. Finally, thank you for your continued giving to Envision. Projections are that the construction will be completed around the middle of July – your giving makes this possible. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do through you!

Stepping Out Testimonies
Many of our membership are “stepping out” into the community. This focus each month will allow you to hear from them, know how you can pray for that outreach and perhaps be inspired to join in as well.

Being a servant of Jesus we are called to serve and this has become my mission in life is to serve others. Along with service we are to minister to those in need. It was brought to my attention about being a Hospice Counselor, and I will be honest with you, I had no idea of what it would be like. I get to talk to people who are in the last months of their lives, and for the most part, I listen to them talk. The Bible says for us to rejoice with those who rejoice and to mourn with those who mourn. Most of the patients I talk with are so happy to have someone to talk to. One man I talked with hadn’t said a word in four months, but when I walked in he saw me and he said, “Hi SQUIDLY”. I said, “Hi Jarhead”, and we started a conversation that lasted an hour. The doctor said it was a miracle that he spoke. I was so blessed at meeting the man. I encourage you to volunteer wherever you can. I feel blessed to be able to listen to these people. I hope when I reach the end of my adventure (life) that I have someone I can talk to.

The Care and Share Ministry to widows of the church community will meet for an informal lunch at Golden Corral North restaurant on Thursday, July 25. This is an informal time of praying and sharing together. For further information, please contact Phyllis Sanford or Mildred Burns. Visitors are welcome to attend.
WOMEN ON MISSION STUDY SCRIPTURE
Women on Mission will meet at 9:30 on Tuesday, July 23. The meeting will be held in fellowship hall with all women of the congregation welcome to attend. There will be a short business session led by Presidents Judy Divine and Doris Whitcher. Patti Crocker will lead a time of prayer for missionaries scattered throughout the world whose birthdays occur today. A sharing time of coffee and snacks will occur between 10:15 and 10:45. Hostesses for the morning will be Marti Blattert and Becky Mabus.
Program emphasis will begin at 10:45 and be led by Marti Blattert. The subject for the morning will be, “Be Still and Know.” The world about us may be disturbed, sometimes greatly so, but the faithful need not be fearful. Even when our lives are touched by things we do not understand, our God is able to help us overcome. We need have no ultimate fear. Believers are secure. Faith is secure. We are secure in Him. Come and learn of this faith, this security, this powerful God.
