Japan can be an amazing place to experience the season and we'd love to see your photos documenting this special time of year. The winner will receive a gift basket valued at $100 in goodies, and will see his or her photo featured on the JUMP website and social media accounts.

JUMP Spotlight Series: Adventures in Japan with Mariann Martin

JUMP member Mariann Martin made the most of her time in Japan while her husband served at Camp Zama from 1976 to 1979. Martin hiked Mt. Fuji (twice!), visited Tokyo numerous times, shared meals with Japanese friends, and took university classes. Her enthusiasm for Japan continues to this day: she recently joined JUMP members at our event this fall at the National Naval Aviation Museum .

Photo Gallery: Japanese Whisky Tasting in DC on November 8
JUMP hosted a tasting with whisky expert Hajime Kunai, Certified Whisky Expert (Japan Whisky Research Centre) and former General Manager of the Mars Shinshu Distillery, on November 8, 2018. The tasting for JUMP members was held at Sasakawa USA's offices in Washington D.C. The event was offered in partnership with the Embassy of Japan.

Distinguished specialists on Japan, China, the Korean Peninsula, and U.S.-Northeast Asian relations discussed the persistent challenges that impact the region at a November 29 JUMP event. The event was hosted by the Japan-America Society of Washington D.C., the National War College, and JUMP with support from Sasakawa USA, the National Association of Japan-America Societies, and the Embassy of Japan.

We're Hiring: Program Assistant
JUMP is seeking a new Program Assistant. We're looking for someone with an interest and familiarity with Japan and U.S.-Japan relations who would like to help us with our mission of connecting those who have served in Japan. This part-time role will provide logistical and administrative support to the JUMP Director, assist with planning and executing events, and will require excellent written and oral communications skills.
