Connecting those who have served in Japan
Celebrating the Fifth JUMP Annual Dinner
The Fifth JUMP Annual Dinner took place on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Army and Navy Club on Farragut Square in Washington D.C. We were excited to invite 115 of our JUMP members to attend the festivities and to hear from our honored guest, Admiral Patrick Walsh (USN, Ret.) who served as the Commander of Operation TOMODACHI. In fact, we were pleased to have numerous alumni of Operation TOMODACHI in the audience. Our event focused on the successes of U.S.-Japan cooperation following the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami but our guest also spoke about many of the future challenges our alliance will face. Thank you to all of our attendees who participated in the event and we look forward to seeing you all again next year!

Inaugural Event in Colorado Springs
Our first annual event in Colorado Springs took place on Saturday February 29, 2020 at the Falcon Club on campus at the United States Air Force Academy. With over 120 attendees, including numerous academy cadets, we consider this event a great success. Opening remarks were made by Consul General Midori Takeuchi of the Consulate in Denver and the keynote address was given by Lieutenant General John Dolan (USAF, Ret.), former Commander of United States Forces Japan. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us.

COVID-19 Cancels Norfolk and San Antonio
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and response, JUMP has taken steps to contribute to large-scale social distancing efforts. We are sad to announce that our events planned to take place in Norfolk this week, and San Antonio this weekend, have both been cancelled out of an abundance of caution and a desire to uphold federal guidelines regarding large gatherings during this time.

While we are disappointed that we will not have the opportunity to celebrate with JUMP members in Norfolk or San Antonio, we are hoping to host these events in the future.

We hope to see you when that time comes.

Please stay tuned to our newsletter , social media channels, or website for details on future events.
