JUMP Washington, D.C.: On Wednesday, October 30, 2019, we will host an event at the National War College in cooperation with the Japan America Society of Washington DC. "The U.S.-Japan Alliance and Contemporary Defense Contingencies in the Indo-Pacific" will feature remarks by a panel of experts and a catered reception. Joint Operation Rising Thunder honors Nisei Veterans
On September 8th, JUMP, in cooperation with the  Japan-America Society of the State of Washington , hosted an event in conjunction with Joint Operation Rising Thunder. Held in the Nisei Veterans Committee Memorial Hall in Seattle, the celebration honored the service of Japanese-American veterans and helped build bridges between American and Japanese active duty service members. Over 200 attendees came to listen to fascinating speeches and enjoy traditional Japanese entertainment.

5th JUMP Pensacola event attracts large crowd
On September 21st, JUMP in cooperation with the Japan-America Society of Northwest Florida, hosted our 5th Annual JUMP Pensacola event at the National Naval Aviation Museum. The celebration attracted over 200 service members and civilians. The event featured base reunions and traditional Japanese entertainment in the form of taiko drumming as well as a stirring piano performance by Choko Aiken.

Recap: Overcoming Cross-Cultural Differences in Japan
A YCAPS -JUMP seminar on August 29, 2019 featured author Leland Gaskins as he addressed cross-cultural communication and spoke about his book Step Up: Overcoming Cross-Cultural Differences between Western and Japanese Businesspeople. Mr. Gaskins has decades of experience in the business world and as an American expat in Japan and his seminar resonated with many of our members.
