MATERIAL MATTERS

C&D TALK & TOUR AT
LAKESHORE RECYCLING
Another great event held Fri 5/18/2018.

According to the 2015 Illinois Waste Characterization Study over 16.7% of municipal solid waste consists of construction and demolition material. Growth in the C&D industry means that communities and businesses across the state are demanding that more of their construction and demolition material re-enter the material stream and be recycled or reused. In an effort to highlight these efforts and continue the conversations from past events about the C&D industry, the Illinois Recycling Association hosted a C&D Talk and Tour at Lakeshore Recycling Services’ Material Recovery Facility in West Chicago. This former K. Hoving facility accepts a wide array of construction and demolition materials and has a dense and diverse network to find the best and most efficient use of materials recovered at their facility. For more information about this facility contact Joe Zepeda at 773.746.5060 or visit Lakeshore Recycling Services .
