New Officers Elected for 2021- 2022

Plano Art Association (PAA) now has new officers! They were voted in unanimously during the May online Members meeting.

Past President – Karla Keese
President – Pamela Crosby
President Elect – Nolan Mueller
Treasurer – Joan Kaiser
Secretary – Kelly McCurdy

We are now in the period of trying to change administration “stuff” such as e-mails, duties, knowledge base, etc. Please be patient as we get all of this done and close out the old administration and usher in the new administration. I am really excited to see what is in store for PAA next year! – KARLA
Opportunity for PAA Artists to Exhibit and Sell Art at Downtown Margarita Walk on Saturday
We have another pop-up event to allow members to make $$$. On Saturday, June 12, the Plano Downtown Historic District is hosting a Margarita Walk! They are closing down a portion of 15th Street and have offered the Plano Art Association eight (8) tent spaces. We have them available on a first come – first served basis and there are still some slots available. Members who want to use or share a slot will need to pay or share cost for a canopy ($55 total for full tent). Also, let us know how many tables you want to rent ($7.75), You will also be asked to come help us set up and take down your area. The event in April was a real success and this one will be a good follow-up. Please email [email protected] to reserve a spot, let us know how many tables you will need, and we will let you know the cost.
PAA 125 Show is on Display at the
Eisemann Center Through June 27
The 125 Show officially started on June 5, 2021. And it looks great! The judges will take a look at the final show and make their selections. We will announce the winners at the Members Meeting and Zoom Reception on June 22. Everyone please reserve the date at 7pm for the Awards Presentation. We will send out the Zoom details in a separate announcement.

Encourage everyone to go see the Show. The hours are 12pm to 5pm Monday through Friday. The 125 Show is also available for viewing on evenings and weekends when the Eisemann Center is having an event, so check their website if you need to find alternate times. We are working on some digital formatting for members to view the show and share with friends, relatives, and patrons who cannot see the art in the current show.

PAA Grant Proposal Presented to City of Plano
Karla Keese and Joan Kaiser presented the PAA Grant Proposal to the Cultural Arts Committee of Plano on Saturday, June 5. The membership was able to see the presentation at the Member’s Meeting in May. We were very happy with the reception we received with the presentation. Now we will need to wait to see what the committee is able to provide to us for the coming year.

That being said, we need to remember as an association that we have many other fundraising opportunities open to us as an organization. We rely on membership dues, revenue from art shows, North Texas Giving Day participation, participation in Amazon Smile, and donations from patrons in the community. As members of PAA, you can spread the word to family, supporters of arts, employers, etc. to encourage donations and attendance at events.
It has been an honor serving you and I look forward to another successful Plano Art Association year!!

Stay Creative!

Amazon Smile
Did you know you can give money to the PAA just by using Amazon Smile. Instead of using the general Amazon website, sign on the Amazon Smile. Designate Plano Art Association as your charity and any purchases you make will have a small percentage of the Amazon profit go to the PAA instead. It is an easy way to give money, and you pay the same price for the items on Amazon Smile as you would for the regular Amazon. Just think if all of our members (and maybe their family and friends) would do this as a habit. It would really help our budget.
