Everybody needs beauty as well as bread,
places to play in
and pray in,
where nature may heal and give strength
to body and soul.

You are Welcome Here!
"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
from The New Colossus, by Emma Lazarus - 1849-1887 ( The Statue of Liberty)
Lady Liberty always reminded me of a modern day Mary, Mother of Jesus. Stoic, sitting in the New York Harbor, watching all those waiting for the new hope. How did Mary feel inside? Was she on the inside as she appeared on the outside? Observing, supporting, loving, watching Jesus through his short life experience? This is a time to be real, not stoic. It is a time to open ourselves to earth, spirit and healing.
Let our comfortable surroundings wrap your tired soul. Fill your water bottle with spring water for refreshment. Sit by the waterfall watching the fish in the pond. Rock and read a quiet book in the library. Stroll the flowering grounds. Hug a tree. Enjoy the shade of the gazebo. Reflect in St. Mary's Chapel. Mediate in one of our quiet spaces with a warm cup of tea, and maybe a fish. . . .
We invite you to relax and be at peace.
