Baccalaureate Mass

A Blessing to Send Them Forth:

The Baccalaureate Mass is one of NDCR’s most cherished traditions—an opportunity for our graduating seniors to gather one last time in prayer, reflection, and gratitude.

In a powerful moment of mutual blessing, families and the school community extended their hands in prayer over the Class of 2025, and the students, in turn, prayed over those who have supported them on their journey.

It was a moving reminder that faith, love, and community will always surround our graduates as they step into the future.

OUTRAGEOUSLY BOLD AWARD

The Outrageously Bold Award was established by the Cristo Rey Network to recognize exemplary performance and outstanding results. It celebrates those who dare to dream big—who lead with courage, purpose, and heart. It was inspired by Fr. John Foley’s words, “…May we have faith in a dream so ambitious as to border on the delusional. May our hope be so outrageously bold that we are afraid people will laugh at us if they knew what we hoped for.”

Congratulations to NDCR teacher Dr. Suzanne Sabin our 2025 Awardee!

Dr. Sabin was given the award at the NDCR faculty and staff celebration.

NDCR on the MOVE!

The Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School celebrated a big moment for our growing athletics program with our first-ever Varsity Sports Banquet—an exciting evening honoring the dedication, grit, and heart of our student-athletes. Though we’re a small school, we are mighty—and our sports presence is growing stronger every season!

We recognized all varsity teams: boys’ and girls’ basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, cheerleading, and track & field. Highlights from the year included Volleyball winning its first match and hosting our first varsity boys’ basketball tournament game—both incredible milestones for NDCR.

A special moment of the night was the unveiling of our new Athletic Wall of Honor, a lasting tribute to those who have shaped NDCR athletics. The inaugural honorees were Sister Maryalyce Gilfeather, SNDdeN, NDCR President; Dr. Anthony Zavagnin, NDCR Principal; and Tony Cadarelli, NDCRHealth teacher and longtime NDCR baseball coach. Their leadership, commitment, and passion have laid the foundation for something truly special.

This event would not have been possible without the vision and leadership of Athletic Director Jim Weymouth, whose presence has been a true gift to the NDCR community. His strong connection with our students, deep understanding of athletics, and commitment to building a positive and inclusive sports culture have made a lasting impact on our school.

Thank you to our coaches, families, and supporters for making this night—and this movement—possible. NDCR athletics is on the rise!

Thank you, Mr. Jim Weymouth, for this new tradition!

NDCR looks forward to many years of games, cheers, crowds and victories in the years to come!

Beyond the Desk:

Corporate Work Study Connections

At Notre Dame Cristo Rey, the Corporate Work Study Program is more than a model—it’s a mission. It’s where professionalism meets purpose, and where students don’t just build résumés—they build relationships.

Dean Graziano, JD, VP of Corporate Work Study shared this through a powerful example -- at this year’s graduation. "Corporate Work Study supervisor Charissa Lane from Keolis traveled all the way from Seattle to witness her student, Anthony Rodriguez, '25, cross the stage. He worked remotely from our campus on Methuen with Charissa who lives across the country!"

It wasn’t just a kind gesture—it was a testament to the lasting bond formed through mentorship. Back in March, Anthony and his supervisor, Charissa, spoke at our CWSP Breakfast about how their relationship evolved—from professional beginnings to a deeply meaningful connection built on mutual trust and encouragement.

The Corporate Work Study Program gives NDCR students real-world experience and confidence. But more than that, it creates spaces where students are seen, supported, and believed in by professionals.

As our graduates move on to college, many supervisors will miss the students they mentored—but their pride runs deep, knowing they played a meaningful role in helping them reach this milestone!

THANK YOU CWSP SUPERVISORS!!!

NDCR Hosts Cristo Rey Network's SUMA Leadership Summit

Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School had the honor of hosting the Cristo Rey Network’s Student Union Mission Alignment (SUMA) leadership conference—welcoming student leaders from Cristo Rey Network schools across the country for three days of learning, connection, and mission-driven inspiration.

Centered on the theme “Believe. Achieve. Succeed.”, SUMA 2025 brought together students to explore what it means to lead with purpose and align their school communities more deeply with the Cristo Rey mission. Workshops, team-building activities, and student-led reflections encouraged each participant to connect their personal leadership journey with Cristo Rey’s core values.

Participants stayed in the dorms at Saint Anselm College and—despite battling a full-blown New England heat wave with temps soaring past 100 degrees—managed to keep spirits high. A well-deserved trip to Canobie Lake Park offered a welcome (and slightly cooler) break from the heat.

Special thanks go to:

Organizers:

Presenters:

Your leadership, planning, and facilitation of this meaningful gathering. Their care and commitment ensured students left inspired and ready to make a difference in their schools and beyond.

Thank you to all who helped make this event a success—and to the students who showed up with heart, vision, and a deep desire to lead.

As we cheered on our graduating seniors, we also took time to celebrate the incredible talent rising through the halls of NDCR!

We had our Underclassmen Academic Awards during a fun and joy-filled Community Homeroom.

Each course recognized two students:

🏅 Academic Excellence – honoring students who demonstrated mastery and top performance.

🌟 Standout Student – recognizing those who showed impressive growth, dedication, and a positive impact on classroom culture.

Our underclassmen reminded us that the future of NDCR is already bright—and getting even brighter!
