2nd Quarter Update

Dear Fellow Villager Residents:

This is our second quarter newsletter to you… just a bit early, but with important information! As is our customary practice, the VEBF board met in April, May, and most recently in June. There has been much to discuss. Our campaign to bring in, as sponsors, more (and former) area businesses is underway. For your edification, we have 4 levels of sponsorship (Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze) each carrying a different level of financial commitment ($250-$1000). Over 60% of our POA employees live in the Village, and so sponsorships is a way for businesses to say thank you.

HSVillage is rated as the number one place to retire, and it is the continual effort of our employees that makes our Village a safe, attractive, and stable place to live and work. As you are aware (and as you have supported), VEBF wants to make sure that at least once a year, we say thank you to hourly employees for keeping us this way.

The board could use your help. We have approximately 14% of residents who donate to the fund that provides the annual cash appreciation gift. We have a way, through an informative letter in the new resident packet, to share our story with new residents. However, there are other Villagers we have not yet reached. Our request of you is to reach out to at least one neighbor, friend, fellow golfer, church member, etc., etc., who is not currently donating to tell them about what VEBF does and why it is important. If you are able, send us that person 's name and address, and we’ll put them on the mailing list for donations in the fall. Refer them to our website…. VEBF.org.

We are trying to reach residents through speaking engagements at organizations in the Village. If you have a suggestion about a group, call me (214-763-4602), and our Marketing/Advertising group will reach out.

VEBF will have a presence at the 4th of July Fireworks at Balboa Pavilion, and we are considering a “Get to Know Us” event in September, launching our fall donation drive.

As part of our regular business, the VEBF bylaws were updated. You can read those on the website. For your information, VEBF funds are held in short-term CDs that also earn us interest, closely monitored by our Treasurer and the Finance Committee.

As an independent non-profit corporation, the Village Employees Benefit Fund seeks to provide an annual cash appreciation gift to all hourly employees as a way to say thanks for making sure HSV is a safe, beautiful, and healthy place for all its residents.

On behalf of the Board,

Carol Freeland, President

Board: James Patton, Bob Zellner, Donna Jared, Lloyd Sherman, Jeff Lloyd, Bill Butterworth, Bill Luerssen, John Pritchard, Ricky Middleton, Sue Luerssen

THANK YOU FOR BEING OUR PREMIER SPONSOR

These funds are for the benefit and support of all qualified POA employees (excluding Top Management) as defined in the by-laws.

Our intent is to demonstrate the recognition, appreciation, and respect that our property owners and others have for all those who work to support and maintain Hot Springs Village.
