Last year we lost a great friend and Chapter member, George Fujii, to cancer.
George studied architecture and worked in the construction industry for many years. He served on the board of USGBC-Missouri Gateway Chapter from 2014-2017, and as Board Chair in 2016 during our 15th Anniversary Year. Prior to serving on the board, George was an active member of our Technical Committee.
As a U.S. Green Building Council-Missouri Gateway Chapter member, George connected with EarthDance Organic Farm School during one of our Emerging Professionals happy hours hosted at EarthDance. George went on to volunteer as project manager for the construction of EarthDance's Harvest House, he then served on their board and as Board Chair in 2019.
As EarthDance Board Chair, George applied his keen mind, wonderfully positive outlook on life, sense of humor, and dedication to getting the work done.
Please join us at the farm on Wednesday, June 15th from 6:00 - 7:00 pm for the dedication of the EarthDance Harvest House in George Fujii's name. Anyone who wishes to share their memories of George is welcome to speak.

To initiate, develop and accelerate the implementation of green building concepts, technologies and principles that promote environmentally responsible, prosperous and healthy places to live, work, learn, and play.
We recognize that we are a predominately white organization – our staff, our leadership, and our membership. As an organization, we recognize that we have unintentionally contributed to the status quo of injustice and systems that are racist. We know that environmental degradation and climate change disproportionately affect communities of color. We are working to do our part to address and breakdown systemic and institutional racism while understanding our own implicit biases. Learn more about our Equity and Inclusion Initiatives.
